LIL Pictures for April: Dogs and More

in Let's Make a Collage20 days ago (edited)

These images represent my April, 2024 contribution to the LMAC Image Gallery, LIL.

A quick overview of the pictures will reveal a fondness for dogs. These endearing animals are often present in my LIL contributions and in my collages. They are of course delightful in their own right, but I think my love for dogs might be traced also to the first dog that was ever a friend to me, Rex.

This fuzzy picture is about 73 years old. It was extracted from a larger photo in which Rex is sitting on porch stairs with me and my siblings.

A little bit about Rex. I believe he is a little muddy in that picture. This would be appropriate, because the dog followed us everywhere as we wandered through forests and streams. He was a stalwart friend. He met his end one night on the road in front of our house. That event was so long ago, and dwelling on that night makes me sad to this day.

As my brother, who just turned 80 said to me yesterday, Rex was his best friend.

Once pictures are posted in the LMAC library (LIL), they will be in the public domain and anyone on Hive may use them. The gallery is located here and guidance for contributing/using may be found here.

Thank you for reading my blog. Health and peace to all, especially to my canine friends.

Yeehaw! These pictures are a true tribute to the bond between man and dog, showing the loyalty and joy these furry companions bring into our lives. The memories of Rex are like a treasured nugget of gold found in the river of time. Keep cherishing those moments, partner.

You sure do have a fine turn of phrase cowboy. I couldn't have said it more eloquently myself.

Much obliged, partner. Your way with words shines like a lone star in the twilight. Keep spinning your tales in this here community; the campfire's always warm for kindred spirits like you.

The memories of Rex are like a treasured nugget of gold

Yes! In the original picture my brother is hugging the dog. I sent him a cutout of that, the two of them, on a birthday card and he immediately framed the picture.

Thank you for your comment. Always nice to meet another dog lover. We are a large club, aren't we?

Well now, ain't that a heartwarming tale of a man and his loyal hound! Keep spreading that love and your trails will always lead to joy. Yeehaw for dog lovers!

Lovely pictures of Dogs 😍
So sorry about Rex, I remember when my dog went to that big kennel in the sky.
A very sombre feeling after that.
Most folks would describe it like;

It's like losing a family member.

I disagree...
Losing a pet is losing a family member.
Especially a dog.

Losing a pet is losing a family member

🌸

Yes, exactly. You are right, especially dogs.

I'm sorry about your dog, but I'm sure it had a happy life with you. That always gives me comfort.

Thanks for commenting, young friend. Hope you are having a productive, peaceful week.

So many good boys^^

Does LMAC library also accept AI generated content?

Hello @mathowl,🦉🌞
No, LMAC does not accept AI. Only original photos, which can include original art.

Thanks for stopping by and appreciating the good boys.

Photos are very important in the family, it is always an excuse to sit with the grandchildren and remember beautiful moments! At least that's how I remember it from my grandmother.♥️

Dogs leave a big void in us when we lose them, I have lived through the loss of two very dear dogs I still remember them, since then I have not wanted to have more dogs. Maybe my next pet will be a kitten! 😸

Thanks for your contribution to the LIL my friend! 🌹

Photos are the artifacts of our culture. You're right. I have shared pictures of people my children and granddaughter never met. Through the pictures the family learns about our history. I think those roots are important to an individual.

It's wonderful that you have the memories with your grandmother. Precious, aren't they?

since then I have not wanted to have more dogs.

My son feels the same way, and yet it seems he always ends up taking care of someone's dog. He can't turn away when there is a dog in need.

Thanks very much for the lovely comment, my friend @mballesteros. 🌺 🐕

I got captivated by those pictures!! I'm wondering how I could make such a publication here. Any guideline or something?

Thank you! The procedure for contributing to the LIL Gallery was originally laid out in this blog by @shaka. There is a template that the pictures go in, so these can be uploaded to the gallery. I copied that template so I could show it to you.

The pictures have to be uploaded into the table I have shown below. The table begins with the heading

image.png

and ends with

image.png

Here is what the table looks like:

At the end of that image I have shown you how I uploaded the picture of the senior dog in my blog today.

I hope this helps. It took me a while to catch on and do it right, but now I do it easily.

There is also a LIL checker you can use when you are ready to post. This will show you if your table has been formatted properly. Here is a link for the checker. Remember, the pictures have to be your own. The whole idea of the gallery is to create a unique Hive resource that all can use, but the images have to be free of copyright restrictions.

Good luck! I hope to see your images soon. These images give all of us a look into the lives of our fellow bloggers.

I'll try it out. Thanks for your help

How were you even to keep a 73year old picture?
I don’t even keep pictures for two years but it is really lovely though. The pictures are so nice and nice t is giving me a hint that you love dogs a lot and dogs are loyal

73? That's nothing. This one is 114 years old. I hold onto things that matter. These pictures are considered treasures by my children, who check to make sure I still have them.

Yes, you're right. Most dogs are loyal and I do love them🌞

73-year-old? are you sure? how old are you now?

Hi,
Could be 74. I am older than that 😃. Still kicking.

You are living not kicking ;) living a happy life <3

In your pictures shows bonding of a man with dogs. These are vintage photos of your beloved Dog Rex and other Dogs.

🌞

Yes, we do bond with our dogs, don't we?

Thank you for reading and commenting, @rai-humair

The relationship between dog and human is very special and loving. In bad times and in times of stress, we have seen that dogs are very supportive of humans.
