Time for some solid teeth brushing before going downstairs to see what the good lady has in store for me today, I thought.
Not so long later I was downstairs to join the family in our Sunday fun. Sunday's of course, are usually not in the slightest bit fun.
Because hangovers and chores.
The good lady seems to think I have to pay a price for my Saturday beer'ing and not just the price of a hangover. No no, instead I get a brush shoved up my arse and instructed to sweep the floor whilst painting the hall or some such thing.

I called breezily to the family.

Yodelled the family in return, grateful once more for some Alpha male'age to be back in their lives.
I caught the good lady's eye and gave her a prickly look.
And what's the plan for today then?
I asked casually, as if we were two Badgers trying to tip over a bin.

I am glad you asked, Daddy bear! We have a busy day... First you could go pick up shoes for the little lady. Then take that stuff to the dump. Then come back home and you will have to find the Christmas tree and decorations in the garage...
She wasn't finished and it was starting to sound like too much.
I felt a twinge in my gut. A crazy voice started shouting in my brain over the steady thump of my hangover headache...

A tad extreme. But perhaps? I tuned back into the good lady who was still waffling on.
After that you will have to dig the sack of baby clothes out from the attic and drive them over to Mac-Mac. When you come back there will be...
The Voice in my head was louder now.

I opened my mouth ready to explode volcano-style. Who does she think she is? Ordering me about like a serf?
That's it, here goes... I prepared to explode in rage at the injustice of 21st century living I was experiencing.
...or, we could just say stuff it and instead drink mulled wine whilst wrapping presents and chill? Maybe some takeaway food?
She finished, a questioning eyebrow raised at me.
I closed my mouth. Then opened it again, my rage evaporating away like promises of hanky panky after marriage.

I smiled happily too, although mine had more than a hint of the booze loving tramp to it.

Sunday. What a perfect day to do nothing! It's hard enough to know that Monday is soon here so why torment oneself with stuff to do. That's what workdays are for. :)

Mulled wine! The synchronicity keeps coming hard and fast! We bought ingredients for making one last weekend, but we don't know how it should taste like so we hesitated in making it. Did you guys make it yourselves?
We did! You just have to be sure to gently warm it! It's tops! Cinnamon, orange peel, cloves and a shot of brandy is how I do it. Hehe, the brandy is a secret ingredient which takes it to another level!
Ohoho! The secret's out then! Good thing we have oranges and cinnamons here, unfortunately we have no cloves. What do you suppose is a good alternative for that, broskie?
Hmmm, an alternative to cloves. Hmm, sod it. Nothing, cinnamon is fine! Unless you have non preferred all spice, I don't even know if that's a thing, lol!!

That list sounds normal but a tad too long and what is worrying the good lady seems to not forget things. That list is not going away you do realise that I hope?

Mulled wine and procrastination is JUST the thing for this season. We have our tree here, but I didn't have to do a thing. my friend and English housemate stopped and got one on the way home last night. All I had to do was hold it upright as the screws were tightened into the little thing.
This morning the house smells wonderfully of Christmas pine, but of course I'm enjoying the smell of tea and coffee and the sounds of the 40s and 50s being the cafe creature I am ;)
Hehe those are much better sounds!!

And that is why the other stuff will never get done, because mulled wine, chill and present wrapping will always win XD

If it makes you feel better I just cleaned all the mold out of my cupboard so it doesn't get it of control over the next 3.5 weeks when I'm in Australia (going tomorrow and mold is my nemesis living in the tropics). I still need to clean my bathroom. It hit peak mankiness (that I put up with) last week but I decided to wait another week so it would be clean when I get back.
Drinking mulled wine sounds like a much nicer idea than undertaking all this manual labour, like a peasant!
It had been rather a pleasant experience, I do like a mulled wine. Now the tree is up and the house is all Christmas'y!!
Mould is bad here too with the perpetual damp. I hate that kind of cleaning. Will probably be tasked with it in Christmas Eve, lol!
