Greetings Art Appreciators;
.
Hope you are well and enjoying a fine day wherever you may be.
Lilies have long appeared in Bleujay's artwork as well as Tulips. Their simple structure of a few petals, stamens and stem provide them with an unsurpassed elegance. That elegance...that essence is something Bleujay hopes to capture on paper....an invisible concept made visible through a painting.
Artists paint for many reasons....to practice, to hone a certain skill, to become familiar with; their tools, colours or a subject....many reasons indeed...in order to be able to paint the subject matter that appeals most to them. They have a motive, which could be simple or complicated ....stemming from thoughts they have had on a certain subject or subjects. Many decisions follow before they ever put pencil or paint to paper.
A particular query is oft asked of Bleujay...'How long did it take to paint this artwork?'. Perhaps what they are really asking is ...'How long did it take to produce this finished artwork?' The painting of it is a small percentage of time spent on the actual piece of work. The process....Thought/Inspiration/Data Gathering, ...Motive/The Why, ...Decision/Focus, ...Action/Material Gathering, then Composing, Drawing, Painting....can be as simple or as complicated as the artist desires. Needless to say the actual production time of an artwork is not really measurable. The artist can measure the time of the actual painting of it, should they wish to do so.
Wishing you all the best....God's best!

Now that I have been enjoying it all these months, I have come to appreciate how distinct your style is. If you hid one of your paintings among many in a gallery, I bet I could pick it out from many.
Not sure why it can’t be now, but I envision hive as a market place with a network of people sharing their goods and art with each other, supporting eachothers promotion and pursing from each other with Hive. Shipping is the only weak link between us in this regard but another big wave of adoption could make regional exchange of these physical offerings feasible.
Nice work again and I love the inside view of the process.
Greetings @zekepickleman ,
Thank you for the smiles....a lovely thought...the hidden Bleujay painting. ^__^
You have mentioned 'Style' before...and I wondered about it then. Thinking 'Really, I do...Lovely!..as that is what an artist eventually aspires to have, a 'Style' associated with their work.
Perhaps that elusive 'Style' is similar to one's own signature...it just happens when you are not looking.....I shall have to give it a think.
Speaking of Hive as a marketplace....that would be awesome. I am looking forward to spending my first HBD...when it happens someday, somewhere...since it is now a reality. It was only a dream just a short time ago.
Appreciate you dropping by.
Awesome post you have out there today!
Kind Regards,
Bleujay

Good evening brother @bleujay
I personally find painting to be incredibly difficult. I'm often confused by the complex understanding of visual elements.
You've created an extraordinary work, it looks truly beautiful.
Amazing! Have a great day brother 🙏

Oh my, a beautiful watercolor, whose colors fill the air, warm it, and give it great luminosity!... Thank you so much for sharing this work of your art that also reflects your spirit... And I read your lines and felt very connected to them precisely because in my post today I shared something about how I understand my passion for street photography, how it arose, and what it means to me... Creativity is something so necessary and so beautiful, dear @bleujay friend. I'm happy to be able to appreciate your art even from so far away; that's one of the wonderful things about our interconnected age. And for my part, I also love sharing my humble work, which is like a necessary catharsis for me... Thank you for sharing your always inspiring work... May you always have many blessings and a bright weekend with your loved ones...
PS: Wow, what a magical close-up of a lily in black and white!

Nice close up of the lilly :) but to make that in to a painting is another story , well done.
I love the colors of your painting but also your impressive black & white photography of a huge lily flower!
