I remember my childhood years when my biggest sister had this very cute, funny, sometimes annoying habit: she would put immense headphones on her ears and listen to music, sometimes pretending to be a dj. Because at our grandmother's we had only one radio casette player.... Imagine my pouting lips when it was my turn to watch the radio being taken from me.Arhhhh😡 Kids and their over - exaggerated sense of possesion📻😭😂
Nevertheless I remember the joy it gave my sister and me. Listening to our favorite music is somewhat like a trance. We stopped caring about anything else and enjoyed our sense of auditory freedom.

Just like in my drawing, there is a bursting of happiness. When you listen to your favourite music you feel you can go on the top of the world while jumping on the couch. You feel invincible (uu Tool's Invincible song, my brain drools every time I play it 😍🎶), you feel brave. Like you can do anything. Music liberates you.

I had the luck to have a very open minded grandmother. She let me put rock metal bands posters on the walls, I have written with red marker on my bedroom door the names of bands and songs(the door is the same unchanged for years. Every time I visit her, the door reminds me of my rebel spirit. I have a sneaky smile everytime I watch my teen door art 🚪🎨) For a granny... She supported my creativity a lot. Even when I was a complete weird as **** teen 🤣🙈
My favorite bands since I was little were, and still are, are Depeche Mode, Radiohead and Tool. And in between a ton of metal rock bands. I still have a huge thing for Anneke van Giersbergen's voice.
I started with classical music though, which I enjoy listening once in a while too (Maria Callas you are the queen for me). My grandmother had a family friend where I went on week-ends and he made cassetes with classical music for me to hear at home. I was always looking forward to those week-ends. I started to buy cassetes of my own when I was a child, some of them I still have today, my very first one being Vivaldi's epical The Four Seasons.
I believe in the healing power of music. I always put my favourite songs to play when I feel I need a boost of energy. It gives me joy, it sets me free from the mundane and puts me high on creativity clouds. Tell me one person who wouldn't like to fly ☁️☁️☁️

I like it’s colorful.
Thank you!
No posters on my walls but a ton of music. Almost every genre. From Romanian music, to Depeche Mode, Tupac, Armin van Buuren and others I was really a big music consumer. Nowadays I don't listen to too much anymore. I generally put some youtube mix, deep house or something. I do believe that music has the power to change moods, bring back memories and create new ones. By the way, I like your art very much.
Thank you, music is indeed great for the spirit
I'm pretty sure this is a rhetoric question and I will answer it with a huge YES
Did you and your sister grow up at your grandparents/ grandmother's house?
I mainly learnt to love music thanks to my dad and his record / vinyl collection and later ( from 1991 onwards ) CD collection. I was born in 1981 and got a radio cassette player on my 12th birthday and a CD player at my 14th bday. The cassette player and listening to radio and maxing mix tapes with my favorite songs hugely influenced me too, for that reason 1990s Euro dance song are still my guilty pleasure.
I used to love Radiohead too ( saw them live thrice in the late 90s early 2000s ) and now only my dad's record collection as he decided to part with it. He only uses CD's now and I'm old fashioned haha
One of my favorite bands in the last couple of years is Future Islands but I can listen to anything from classical music to dance, from pop to jazz and so on. Unless it's too noisy. My hardrock years are behind me.
P.S. @joseacabrerav @trovadormusica - I would love to hear your replies to this post ;<)
From the age of ten we lived at our grandmother's. Cassetes are awesome! I have a bit of nostalgia and I love vintage kind of things connected to music. I would love to have a patephone and a full place filled with stuff to play. Sometimes I enjoy some hardrock, but with the passing of time I noticed I prefer silence and tranquility more. I will take a look and give a feedback 😊
I see...
I miss my grandparents. My last grandmother passed away, early 2018, aged 94, the other in 2007. My granddad's way earlier, in 94 and 96.
What's that? You mean a record player? or is it some kind of mysterious machine that I've never heard of? :<)
Same here, silence and tranquility, although I admit that I listen to quite a lot of 90s euro dance ( as I mentioned in the above comment ) but mainly to get energized / do some funny dancing ( while cooking, for instance ).
This kind of thing. And I would love to have a bunch of records just so that if one night I feel like listening to some music... I could put this to play and enjoy it. I have a vintage soul lol🙈
Ah awesome, I have seen these machines play in old movies :<)
And I could have guessed you had a vintage soul.
Me too, as my name starts with VIN ;<)
Yeah, old movies😍
I have seen it, they will do a concert on discord from what I have understood and have a competition. A photo and a story of the place where you feel the most comfortable to create. Hm... Easy. My couch. Or at work when I feel like drawing... I sit on my very comfy hairdresser chair. I can pretty much sit anywhere to create as long as I have the right mood. What I really reallly reaaaaaly dream and want would be to be able to paint one day outside in the yard of my own countryside wood house. I think my creativity would rise at least duble. Until then, my imagination sits on the couch. Literally😁🛋️😋
yes! :)
