48 Hours of Labor for Home Birth, Ended in C-Section

in #baby4 years ago

Kaelan has arrived. He's a healthy boy, and big. 9lbs 7 ounces big :)

We prepared for a home birth, but in the end the cervix wasn't getting dilated enough progressing too slow. After 48 hours, it was only at 6-7 cm. The babies heart rate was dropping after the membrane was broken manually to try to force labor to progress.

So we ended up at the hospital this morning after my partner had an arduous 48 hours of labor. She couldn't take anymore. A c-section was required to get the baby out with lowering heartrate. He's healthy. All is good :D

Back to the hospital after coming home to get food and some other stuff. Take care. Peace!

Wow I'm not surprised, that is one big baby boy, massive congratulations, happy days!

You must be MOST relieved he's finally here!

Thanks :) Yes, it's good that he's arrived safe and sound :)

Congrats mate and glad that all is well :)

Thanks ;)

Congrats! I was 3 ozs bigger, and had to be delivered via c-section as well. Glad everything worked out for you.

Thanks, it seems bigger babies have harder time coming out ;)

Congratulations!
Glad to hear it all worked out in the end.
All the best to you all.

Congratulations , my oldest son was 9,7 and my second born was 9,11... I understand the feeling very well.

Thanks. And you delivered them naturally? Congrats ;)

My sincere and happy congratulations to you all. I went through almost the identical situation with my firstborn. I am confident that you and yours are utterly drained and focused on more substantial matters than Steem, but I am grateful you have let us that care know of your blessed event.

Thanks! (get some rest!)

Thanks. Yeah Steem has dropped off interest for me ;) May be more active someday ;)

Suddenly your occupation with more pressing and important matters is affecting me, because you are my proxy for witnesses.

I very much want to have one of my witness votes go to @r0nd0n, but I doubt you are presently aware he has tossed his hat in the ring because he just did so. As my proxy, I am fully supportive of your choices for witness, save that @r0nd0n has now entered the field. In my estimation his character is unsurpassed, and I am determined upon supporting his witness soon.

I know this is a trivial matter compared to your present undertakings for you, but I hope you see this comment soon, and deign to address it so that I might know whether I need to proceed differently than to leave you my proxy. I'm sorry to interject this issue in your familial bliss, but it is important to me, so I do.

Thanks!

Congratulations to you and yours @krnel!

Thanks mang ;)

Woah. Congratulations! Wasn’t expecting that when I came to check your blog

Hehe, thanks!

Congrats! I'm glad she and the baby are safe. This is how it goes sometimes and why the hospital is there with a maternity ward. Sometimes things don't go as planned. I'm sorry the home birthing didn't work out as that is always preferable.

Thanks! Yeah things could have been better, and worse too. Glad it all went well in the end. She just has to recuperate from the surgery now.

I imagine giving birth is difficult period regardless of how long it takes! I don't know what is typical, but, 48 hours sounds like it would be pretty intense? Glad to hear all is good though! Congratulations! That must be an incredible feeling and experience. :) I hope things continue to go as good as is possible for you and your family! <3

Yeah, 48 hours is long... some are lucky and it can take 3 hours, or 12, or even 24h, but 48 is yikes. Thanks :D
