So, I found myself blacklisted on Hive “with no chance of appeal.” Apparently, I am a plagiarist, and have been since 2018.
And here I was, thinking I was adding value to the platform with my research on the plants around me, sharing the much needed humour, and educating people with my ‘words of wisdom’. I guess I thought too highly of myself.
Since there is no chance of appeal, I will not waste my time on that. How do you convince a shadow who has thought the worst of you, that you are not the person he thinks you are? A waste of time, really.
I will take some time off. Maybe come back with a different identity and post other stuff. No more humour and quotes, since they were the ones that got me into trouble in the first place. Apparently, I am supposed to credit the source where they are from.
I have explained to them that quotes are not copyrighted. And the source, if they must know is actually, my blog. All the jokes and quotes in my posts were taken from there - https://anetizen.blogspot.com/. Unfortunately, those were not good enough reasons.
Anyway, I will still be lurking in the shadows for the time being, before I decide my next course of action. In the meantime, I will also be exploring the other platforms on the blockchain. Maybe I will find one that is more appreciative of my efforts.

Dearest Vincent, I just had a conversation with guilty parties over in the Discord and he made it much more clear to me what their position is. The quotes that you use are great, but they feel that 50% of your post, at least, should be written in your own words. I think an example of that is how Galenkp uses a quote in his Viking posts and then writes about 1000 words expressing his thoughts. . I can see @Hivewatchers position here. I would support you 100% if you want to change the format of your posts. I already know what an intelligent writer you are!

I guess if they had mentioned their expectations in the first place, and used a 'gentle reminder', I would have no problem understanding their stand. They definitely could have dealt with the matter a little better.

I can't understand that. I have had the same problem twice on the Blockchain we have been before. One was a photo I have posted (the heart shaped cloud) which can be found on several pages on the internet and the other one was a poem I have posted on another account of mine.
But I could explain them all in discord and proof I am the photographer and the author. I think your website should be proof enough. I would talk to them again. Hopefully you can sort it out, my friend, good luck 🤞

This platform is going to lose more bloggers! The real culprits are still blogging without being detected! I guess people had to make a living during this hard times.
They should have given you a warning first before making the judgement. Some Thai bloggers are also singled out without any valid reason. They are at a loss and confused over the matter. This bot is too much of a robot without human finesse. The bot should make a report then a human could intervene and make the final decision. This way it’s human to human conversation; not bot’s power over human beings! Future world war will arise because of bots and robots!

That is simply ridiculous. I have been following you and loving your quote posts since the early days and suddenly someone who thinks they are God at @hivewatchers wants to feel powerful? I don't get it. I have lost all faith in that group.

Their contention is that I took the quotes from websites without sourcing the sites.
I explained that I have been collecting quotes since I was in primary school, from sources like books, and magazines like 'Readers Digest' - you would have heard of them, I don't know the hivewatchers are old enough to have heard of them. I have also explained that quotes are not copyrighted. And if they need to know my source, the quotes are actually all from my blog - which I started in 2006 as a way of saving my collection in one place.
There are a couple of articles which I wrote that has got quotes in them, and a post which have references from sites which I didn't was necessary to source. They find that unacceptable.
As much as anything else, it's the way, they dealt with the matter that leaves a bad taste. They don't listen to explanations, and they don't try to understand what happened. They don't even take the rest of my posts into consideration. There is no dialogue. Just 'you are blacklisted with no chance of appeal.' Case shut. Next!

I have always been a Hivewatchers supporter and felt there was a need for them, but as I watch them drive more and more accounts away it has become obvious to me that they have become a negative to the growth of Hive. You have done nothing wrong. Many people use quotes and tracking down all of the posts with quotes will become a monumental task for Hivewatchers if that is a direction they are choosing to take.
I agree with you. There is a need for Hivewatchers, and they have a job to do. I do understand that they might be overloaded with work. But still, they should have handled the occasion with a bit more heart, and understanding. Let's see if they reply to your question. Otherwise, no big deal. It is not the end of the world. I understand that you might have an emotional attachment to this account/user but please don't support and vouch for persistent plagiarists.
I think you are wrong and have overstepped. I have lost all respect for Hivewatchers.
We treat everyone equally and have no exceptions when it comes to abuse, just because some known hiveians would like their favorite users to have special treatment when they are caught with abuse and blacklisted.
This case has been treated just like thousands of other similar cases.
If you don't see a problem with someone exploiting and abusing Hive by effortlessly stealing the content of other people, so he can post it as own content to farm rewards, then there is nothing we can do to change your opinion.
Will you attempt to take on and blacklist everyone who uses a quote in their post?
There is a contest planned for later this week for quotes. A clear rule from @Hivewatchers would be appreciated. Does anyone using a quote get blacklisted or only certain people? Are some quotes allowed and others not? @quotes-haven attributes the quote to the person who said it. What more do you require?
@guiltyparties Could we get an explanation as to why quotes are suddenly not allowed?
