How is HIVE doing these days?

For those who know me, I haven't been around for awhile now and haven't been up to date to what's going on on hive for years. Should I come back? Maybe... Hive has always been some sort of my 'first love' as it introduced me to the world of crypto. Showed me how to use crypto wallets, what is crypto, showed me how to swap tokens and the ins and outs of blockchains and smart contracts.

I was pretty frequent on hive even back when it was still during its Steemit days. Almost never missing a day in posting, and I can still remember even bringing my laptop while I was traveling just to not miss a day at posting. I'm not even sure if any of my followers or the friends that I've met on here are even still active here. I've seen a few OG faces posting under the feeds which is great.

So this post could be the start of myself easing back into HIVE. I still have some things to sort out like what should I write about. I used to write about my profession as an animator. Animation tutorials and what goes on in the animation industry. From time to time, I do post my photography and in general just my life, and of course visiting new places and food.

If you're reading this, maybe you could give me a quick rundown under the comments on what has changed over the past 2-3 years. What are some of the more active communities to join? The major stuff. And if you're one of my followers, do hit me up! Would love to see some familiar faces.

You made this :)

Years ago.

I still use it

Hey man!!!! Omg Nostalgic! I'm glad you're still swinging that banner. How've you been? What's new?

Nothing new. Same old same old.

If you like to be back consider improving your KE ratio. Yours is 95. You got to get it below 3. You do that by powering up hive. Read the pinned post on my blog.

Ohhhh thanks for the headsup. Will read that in a bit. Seems like a new system thingy. :>

Hello! It's good to see you again! Yes, several of the old Powerhouse Creatives clan are still active here! I'm still helping to run THE TERMINAL, a place for newbies to learn the etiquette & workings of the blockchain (or a refresher for longtime Hivians). My other big project is LADIES OF HIVE, a community I co-founded five years ago with SilverSaver888, and it's still going strong! Would love to see you return, you were always a cool dude! 😊

Omg @thekittygirl !! You're still here and The Terminal is still around till this day. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised, you were always active on here 24/7. Nice that Ladies of Hive is also still around. It'll take me awhile to catchup on what I've missed over 2 years!

Thanks for dropping by!

Hi @zord189, what a nice surprise seeing you back here!
I used a personalized animation you designed for a long while.
I started a community the Silver Bloggers for the more mature Hivers (although we do have some younger 'old souls')
There are so many communities, best to go through them, check which are still active and find the ones that cover your interests.
Hope to see you more often 🤗

Hi @lizelle , it's been awhile! Ohhh, do the Silver Bloggers need to have a specific niche of topics they write about? Would love to check it out soon. Yea, I'll be checking things out within the week.

You can write on many topics in our community, as per our description:

We bring together young-at-heart kindred spirits and younger 'old souls'. The silver threads, in addition to a love of blogging and photography, are –
• a keenness to learn more about blockchain and crypto – we’re not digital natives – most of us were born before the PC was imagined; we ask “stoopid” questions
• a compulsion to share our life experiences for storage on the blockchain for our children and children’s children
• musings and memories of lives lived – the happy and the sad, the long and the short
• planning for the next phases of life, whether formal work or not, leisure and travel; second (or third…) careers and hobbies to supplement or, because often one must, generate income. Whatever keeps 'time travelers' busy

Love the sound of that! Haha, 'stoopid' questions. I'll check it out over the weekend!

Hello Zord! It's great to see you back, two years is quite a long time. Many communities have been created, just take a look at the community catalog to see which ones you like. There are many photography communities if you like to share your photos.

I'm glad you're back in this world. Tell us what you've been up to during your absence. I hope you stay and resume your blog. Good luck!

Hey @mballesteros , good to see a familiar face again. Oh for sure, do stay tune for an update about my life in general. Got many catching up to do to make up for the missed years. Of course, I'm much older now... haha

I'll just say firstly, WELCOME BACK!!!

Heyy Jess! Anymore Malaysians still around?

There are two new hivians in Malaysia is quite active at the moment one is @shawn ft another one is really hard to spell his username I need to go copy it first 🤣

Other than that, @iamjadeline is still active as ever

waoooo @iamjadeline still activeeee. Geng cao.

It's messy here bud, I remember your name. Downvote chasing masses away, lots of bad publicity over the downvote. People leaving as a result.

Price looks tragic, tokenomics probably bad. But then that's all altcoins this cycle.

Payouts and upvotes are much less than they used to be, something changed in the mechanism, makes it not worth the effort any more, getting paid so much less now.

I still post here since 2018, all these years mostly out of habit, I have lost a lot of money buying Hive so at a loss.

I wish the altcoin bull run would arrive and I can finally dump my bags and scrape back some profit, but I won't hold my breath waiting for that any more.

Very little readership, very little comments. Maybe you will do better. Often zero comments and no readers. Autovotes at best.

Don't get your hopes up on any level here, it is a shell of its former self in my opinion. Hardly any growth.

Rumors of dev or whale wars and mass dumping of tokens, I don't know about that though.

It was a great idea but it has failed.

Just my personal experience here, as an OG amateur blogger being honest.

Hey, I also remember your name :)

Ahhh I see, thanks for catching me up with what's going on with Hive. I guess Hive hasn't changed much then huh from what it was 2-3 years back. I totally get where you're coming from fam and I'm sorry to hear you've lost money over this. We were all looking forward for a great breakthrough for Hive even during the Steemit days but it does seem to go no where or at least always remain small scale. Wonder what we can do to actually push Hive out there ey.

Hive has and always will be part of my life as it helped open up many doors into easing me into the crypto space and I'm forever indebted to the communities and people here for that. That being said, I do agree with your honesty and what you've mentioned here. Was once a great idea...

Congratulations @zord189! You received a personal badge!

Happy Hive Birthday! You are on the Hive blockchain for 8 years!

You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking
