The facelift of the Porsche 911 is coming.

The Porasche 911 is approaching the middle of its "life" and that means it deserves a facelift, and the company has been working on it since the launch of this version. CarAndDriver journalists managed to get some facts about the next generation and even take spy photos of the prototype.

Thanks to this, we know that the Porsche 911 will receive a modified 3.6-liter engine and that a hybrid will be added to the range! However, it will not be a plug-in hybrid, but a mild hybrid with a 48-volt system. The electric motor delivers about 80-90 hp and drives the front wheels. It is powered by a high-performance Varta battery with a capacity of 2.0 kWh charged by the combustion engine and through recuperation. However, the biggest sensation is expected to be the new T-HEV hybrid system, developed jointly with Rimac (Porsche owns a 45% minority stake in Rimac) with 400-volt technology. According to CarAndDriver,

The system fuses two electrical elements. According to the supplier, the integrated starter generator creates an on-demand instant boost effect and drives the auxiliary equipment. The actual electric motor positioned under the fuel tank propels the front wheels and improves the weight distribution.

From the outside, you can notice changed wheels, lights, bumpers, mirrors, and aero aids. In the front bumper, you can see vertical, active louvers that regulate the air supply for cooling the engine and brakes.

The presentation of the facelifted model is expected to take place in about 6 months and will go on sale in the following year, 2025.

A fully electric version of the 911 is unlikely to appear in this decade and will not replace the combustion version. Instead, the combustion version will be produced in parallel with the EV and will probably be powered by synthetic fuel.
