It's one of those days that I bring you guys another Another ICO Project called The "Vice Industry Token" (VIT). 💲
This many be a touchy subject for some but I tend to live in the real world and place my emotions to the side when making an investment decision.
So what is the Vice Industry Token, It's based on the Adult Entertainment Industry. How will this work? Well you get paid to produce, curate, and consume the content for your participation just like Steemit but in a provocative way. 😳

On another note, do you guys want to know a very funny statistic about all the internet traffic out there? A whopping 30% of all Internet traffic and content is pornography. 🤣
Let's get a little real here; the Internet may never have grown so fast as it did in the early 90's without pornography. Another thing, did you know how merchant processing to accept credit cards online started, yes you guessed it right, a porno website haha
If the Vice Token Industry claims everything what they are going to try to do with this token, it's going to be very huge! They can become a multi-billion dollar company in no time at all. 🏫

The question is this a SMT project or is Vice forking the blockchain?
It appears they are forking the blockchain as opposed to building on top of what STEEM has going. Reading the Vice White Paper, they talked about the Vice Token Network in the same manner as the STEEM and SMT white paper did. My sense is they are forking it.
The last time I checked, it will be using the Steem blockchain... going to dig in deeper :)
As I understand they forked steem blockchain and drop on steem holders free tokens. Like compensation for past work. Like Golos did. I like that better. There will be no connection to steemit.

Yep, just looked into it yesterday myself to see what's going on with this project. Hadn't looked at their updated whitepaper and roadmap. But yeah, it looks like they're going with their own blockchain, but still airdrop some of their tokens to Steem holders as a way of an apology. A shame, this would've probably done wonders to Steem's price.

I got the impression they just did some small edits and copy and pasted parts of Steem white paper. I was not impressed that it wasn't even clear what they are actually doing... (SMT or Fork)
That was my impression too....that they simply took what STEEM created and copied it.
What is interesting is the SMT protocol isnt even released (Appics is using ERC20 for their ICO before moving to STEEM) yet Vice talked about creating other tokens on top of their network.

Just took a look over the white paper. It does not say anything about SMTs. I thought at one point they mentioned they would be using SMTs...I could be wrong but looks like things have changed.
That's what I heard, wonder when they changed it. On @suppoman youtube channel last week, the Ceo said they picked to build on the Steem blockchain. I will have to dig deeper. :)
Looks like @marketingmonk already reached out to them brother. Confirmed not using SMTs. You will see his comment on @suppomans video interview with the CEO. I wont be investing in this project as something just like it could possibly be built on Steem once we do have SMTs. Steem has much more development behind it and I think its a mistake of them to make their own chain. This ICO cash grab madness with 0 development on the ETH blockchain has really gotten out of hand. Patience is key here... SMTs will come and we will discover what is possible. My gut tells me SMTs could possibly hold some huge implications for the usability of Steem across the internet.
I’m with johal. They’re making a mistake by not having the patience to wait for SMTs. Something similar will come once SMTs are launched and it will quickly come out on top.

I'm still a noob here but my gut feeling is that we'll have to wait quite a while longer before SMTs are here and with the rate of development in this space it might miss the major window of opportunity... The head of Vice stated that as his main reason to not go with the SMT model, they don't want to wait...
Think it might be a smart move as you know the Steem blockchain got some major issues in it's current form...

My friend was talking to me about this the other day. Apparently Penthouse are behind the launch (source). I didn't realise it was built on top of Steem, though, that certainly changes things, as far as my interest in it goes.
Looks like they've got @vicecoin on Steemit linked from their website, too.
From their FAQ:

It’s a project that might work. Porn is a very very big industry. When I say big I mean very BIG. Studying in TV , Film & Video Production at uni I learned that Holywood and Bollywood combined don’t make up a 20% of the porn industry in the US alone. Now that’s crazy stats. 😜

I think BEE TOKEN is good, but It's sales have been ended already... as they haven't whitelisted most of the users, only few will get the benefit from it...
but , there are private partners of Bee Token who purchased the tokens from their pre-sales.. and now they're reselling tokens to the crowd/people who missed out ICO.. they can still get some for them from http://beetoken.ml/ I have received 100 tokens and I participated using Ethereum.
