I'm Going on Vacation with Mr. Bean

in #cinetv3 years ago

I was missing for a while from this beautiful land of movies and enthusiasts for the seventh art! Various reasons that suddenly focused on this period of time prevented me from writing. The main thing was the lack of time and my desire not to write on the run and somewhat out of obligation (the obligation not to lose the favorable moment to be active in this community, the obligation to fight against the fact that inactivity makes you forget me).

To write about my favorite movies and not only it seems to me an activity that must be treated with the utmost seriousness. I have to prepare,, because most of the movies that I liked and that I want to bring in front of you are older, I watched them some time ago and I forgot a lot of them. I have to document myself, remember, and look for visual materials (photos, videos) for a better presentation. It takes a long time!

It gets really tiring and that's why a vacation is necessary. I'm thinking of going on a vacation, but not alone, not with my family but with someone who can be an extremely dangerous partner (but also extremely pleasant, at the same time) ... with Mr. Bean!

"Mr. Bean's Holiday"

Director: Steve Bendelack
Writers: Rowan Atkinson, Richard Curtis
Stars: Rowan Atkinson, Willem Dafoe, Emma de Caunes

Mr. Bean won a week's vacation on the French Riviera and a video camera. He left his native England for France. Without GPS, Mr. Bean is guided by the compass, by the south on the compass. Nothing else around him lures him.

Arrived in Paris, he asks another passenger to film him boarding the train for Cannes. The man is in fact Russian director Emil Duchevsky, who is traveling to Cannes to be part of the jury for the Film Festival. In the confusion of departure, Duchevsky misses the train, and Mr. Bean finds himself on board with Stepan, his ten-year-old son, who does not speak a word of English.

For Mr. Bean and Stepan then begins a journey to the south of France full of surprises, meetings, and adventures all more delirious than the others ... Losing everything that can be lost, ie passports and train tickets, the trip to Cannes is done by hitchhiking and cycling.

Finally, Mr. Bean, his young friend, and a beautiful Frenchwoman arrive in Cannes. An end full of cinema!

I came to this film by chance, very skeptical, but I ended up being glad to see it. Because I found many things that are dear to me, that make me happy!

I have to make a confession here. I'm an atypical cinema spectator (I don't think I do this exclusively, there are probably many like me), I don't go to the cinema just to see a certain movie. That is, to see what the poster, the director, the script, and the actors offer me. For me, cinema is a visual art and that's what I want to see in the first place. Picture! Then sound, music, story ...

Well, I have to explain my choice a little bit. Rowan Atkinson and his famous character, Mr. Bean are controversial, some adore them and others despise them, so there is the widest range of feelings here. As in all cases, when a character becomes ultra known and far too widely played, he is confused with the actor who creates him and, in fact, even devours him. Always too much is not good! However, Rowan Atkinson is a very good actor and manages in many movies to break the grimaces of his famous character. A well-known character from TV, hence the great popularity, I think there is no one who has not laughed at his sketches.

I must confess that I too have been tired of Mr. Bean for a while. I couldn't watch him anymore and I bypassed his videos circulating on TV or Youtube. I came to this film by chance, very skeptical, but I ended up being glad to see it. Because I found many things that are dear to me, that make me happy!

Now let me tell you why I liked the movie. First of all, beyond all bad expectations, this is not a bad movie. Of course, if we don't expect a great director's approach. It is an ordinary, normal and well-made film. Two are the main attractions for me ... that is three! - It's about the south of France - It's about the Cannes Film Festival and the film in general - refers to the sea! Now I will make a short presentation of the film. I'm not telling the movie, because Mr. Bean's grimaces can't be told. I go through it, so close to the subject that I think I arouse your curiosity and desire to watch it!

What I liked most was Mr. Bean's determination. He had only one goal, to reach ...

To the Beach!

Nothing else mattered, nothing could divert him from his goal. I liked it a lot because I also love the sea, the beach, but I realize that I have never been so determined!

Mr. Bean, like any self-respecting Englishman, doesn't know French. He had only one answer to all the questions ... To the beach! The culmination is that it was very difficult to get there, after a lot of obstacles. Nothing upset him and nothing stopped him!

I like how music works in the movie. it has an important role and a sensational effect when used properly.
This is a film about the sea, about the love of the sea, but the sea appears only at the end. Arriving in Cannes, Mr. Bean, of course, causes countless situations and disturbances, he is chased through the hotel and ran, agitated, agitated, as it can be otherwise.

A soft song is heard in silence and then louder and louder. One of the most beautiful songs about the sea, by Charles Trenet, "La Mer". Mr. Bean falls almost into a trance, follows the sound of music, and reaches the beach, finally reaches the sea!

I liked the film not for reasons of cinematic art, but for emotional reasons. I really like the sea and because I live far from the sea, any trip to the sea reminds me of the dozens of trips I have made, since childhood, to the sea.

I like summer, its light, and warmth. Much of the film is made in the south of France, on the road and among the rapeseed fields. I actually felt the oppressive heat of the day, which I loved so much as a child when I spent all day in the fields near the house.

I like film and everything related to it, so the Cannes Film Festival is a cathedral for moviegoers. With this film we could be close, we could look closely at the place where this festival takes place.

Movies are of all kinds and for all tastes, it is important to arouse emotion! For me,
this movie was emotional and nostalgic! For others it may be, quite right, just laughter.

If anyone wants to watch the movie, you can find it here!

Although I like to use only my materials in blogs, in these about movies you can only turn to other sources. The source of all photos is Here

I will ask my niece Ilinca to announce that it is over.

Isn't this the one where he was trying to unite a boy with his parents? And an epic street performance? Damn that was great 😂

Yes, that is. You remembered very well.

wow, thanks for writing about this great actor. Well written.

Thank you! I'm happy to look in the past and release films, actors, and directors that aren't talked about much.

Thank you!

Mr Bean is one funny character for sure, however, my favorite character played by Rowan Atkinson is Johnny English, I always laugh out loud when watching those films. His acting style is kind of similar to how comedies were in the past.

Yes, Johnny English can be considered a parody. Indeed, he resembles the actors in silent films, Buster Keaton, for example. Anyway, Rowan is a very good actor.

Welcome back!

I myself too took a break from Mr. Bean, while the whole thing is funny, the novelty for me was gone. Other than Rowan Atkinson and his adventures, Bean movies usually do not have anything else to offer, so what do you do when Atkinson himself starts to feel blunt? As you say, too much of something aint good.

I have not seen this film, reading your article I could sense some of the things. I also love the sea and of course Cannes! Maybe I need some Bean in my life again.

Thank you! I'm glad to see you again.
Of course you want Bean in your life again but without Bean. You can ignore the eternal grimaces, you can laugh at a few scenes and you can watch what is happening behind the character.
