Hey peoples. Here are some new additions to the Information Finding Championship and how it works.. Thanks to a previous contest where we asked the players how to make the game work more like an RPG, we have figured out some ways!
From now on.. Every win you get is worth 3 XP, every vote from a judge is worth 1 XP and there are other ways to obtain XP as well. Like from relics for example or side quests.
Also here's a few ways you can get XP outside of the contest itself.
Referring a new member to IFC who plays at least 3 rounds - 5 XP
Getting a sponsor for the IFC (MIN 10 Steem) - 10 XP
Here's what I have in regards to the leveling system so far. If you want to offer suggestions feel free.. Though for the time being I can't plan that far past level 5 right now. I imagine by the time anyone gets to that level we will be able to figure out more artifacts or some other way to keep the levels going, but this is it for now!
First level up at 40 XP
Second level up at 100 XP
Third level up at 200 XP
Fourth level up at 350 XP
Fifth level up at 600 XP

Now here's what I have so far in regards to relics and artifacts..
Artifacts are given during quests and usually only last 5 rounds until they go up for contention.
One relic can be chosen each time you level up and you get to keep this item and carry it into future seasons of the game.
Relics have "charges" and can be used a certain number of times depending on the amount of charges. Also your charged items will be charged again each time you level up or for other reasons like completing special quests as well.
Relics/artifacts not allowed during sweet 16 championship.
Rare legendary artifact.
Hidden Ladder. (This one given out numerous times for the best comments that we find that are left on any blog post associated with the IFC and can only be used once per person each season)
A challenge will be given. If you solve it you will level up, if you fail you will lose as much exp as you would have gained.
Rare legendary relic.
Unidentified Object. 1 charge (This one will be given to the winner of a future quest)
Allows you to mimic any other relic.
Relic.
Occult Book + The Eye of Experience. 2 charges
Allows you to enter a round twice with two different entries.
And each time you use the book you also gain 2 XP points.
Relic.
Sacred Crystal. 1 charge.
A new bonus round is started in your honor and you get to choose the subject of the bonus round.
You also gain 3 XP for adding your additional creativity to the contest.
Relic.
Anonymous hand. 1 charge.
Grants the player a vote from anonymous. (Must be used before a round ends and the judges vote)
Relic.
Elixer of Influence. 1 charge
Allows you to give another player a vote and you gain 10 XP for helping them.(Must be used before judges vote)
Relic. 1 charge.
KryptoCheck Shield.
With the shield the bearer is granted in the event of any tie a victory instead.
The name of the shield may seem somewhat familiar to some of the long tie (time) players.
It is indeed named after our own intrepid @kryptocek, in honor of being the most tied up person thus far in the games.
If two competitors each have the shield and tie they cancel each other out.
Artifact.
Sortiarius Chest.
Provides full upvote to your entry for 5 rounds from Apolymask
Artifact.
Magic Dancing Shoes.
Gives you advance information about upcoming challenges for 5 rounds but only if you're on the discord channel.
I have one artifact idea that @swolesome came up with that is waiting and will probably be a part of the game, but I'm not sure how I'm going to do it yet I'm still thinking about that one.
Additionally we're still looking for more ideas for artifacts and relics and such, if you have any ideas please feel free to share! :)
I will also be awarding a rare legendary artifact (the ladder) to people who leave the best comments on any IFC related post.
I want to figure out more ways to encourage people to comment and interact with the community more, so there will probably be additional side quests about that or something like that in the future as well.

The update is just fantastic, people joining can see that it is still pretty much an open contest, and that there is more involved to IFC than meets the eye. I like the new level system, and how it gives an individual points based upon multiple paths. If an individual feels they are falling behind, they can go on a hunt for new players, and or go and leave some well thought out comments. I think that is great, a vote is a vote on a page, I myself have gotten a little cynical at seeing a large number of votes, and no comments on post. I know people are pressed for time and such, but I really like the comments. Comments add to a post most of the time and some of them are just so damned funny. Well enough more votes to go.
Absolutely agree. Right now and with the format people could join whenever and have a chance at winning! Especially seeing all the awesome art from round 14! It seems like some real talent is coming into the Digital Castle.
I think a little decorating wouldn't hurt! Good times ahead :)
Glad to hear you like the changes! I think they are pretty good too. :) And most of it came from the players and judges themselves! This game is largely built by everyone who participates which I think is great. :)
Also.. I agree with pretty much everything you said! Good observations. I'm tempted to give you the ladder right now cause it's a great comment.. :D
In fact.. There was one you did a while ago that really deserved it! You had this great funny comment where you mentioned numerous of the other competitors, I should go back and find that comment and give you the ladder for that one, that one was epic!
But yeah, hopefully some of these ideas help improve the engagement and umm.. Socializing aspects more among those connected to the contest. Thanks for sharing your thoughts bashadow!

You can actually get paid and make money doing it! I think that's a pretty revolutionary and awesome thing.. To be able to get paid to play a game and have fun.. Anyways.. Word. Glad you think so. Umm.. A good place to start would probably be joining the discord, but if you'd like. I can go over it with you here and explain anything that might help.
Right now there's a day left on round 14 which is a round to make a logo for the IFC, which is primarily for drawers/painters/graphic designers. So.. Prolly just ignore that one unless you have one of those skills.
