Chocolate Frosting - Yumm

in #cooking7 years ago

Who doesn’t love chocolate? I guess you can hardly find someone. And when it comes to frosting, the only flavor that popups in mind is CHOCOLATE. Frosting is the most important ingredient of your desert. Not only it enhances the taste but also gives beautiful texture to the desert making it irresistible. You can easily find the chocolate frosting in market but there is no match of fresh chocolate frosting. But don’t know how to make one? You don’t have to worry anymore. Just buy the simple ingredients and within 15 to 20 minutes, your freshly prepared chocolate frosting is ready. So, here’s the simplest way that will tell you how to make Chocolate Frosting.
List of Ingredients:
• 125 ml of Cocoa Powder
• 250 ml of Granulated Sugar
• 80 ml of Milk
• 90 ml of Softened Butter
• 250 ml of Powdered Sugar
• 15 ml of Vanilla Extract
Method:

  1. Whipping the Butter:
Take a large bowl. Put the butter in the bowl and start whipping it. Make sure you mix it at a moderate speed. If you are using electric mixer, set the speed at medium level. The consistency in speed will minimize the risk of lumps. Mix the butter until it gets fluffy.

  2. Mixing the dry Ingredients:
Take a small bowl and add cocoa powder in it. Now add the granulated sugar in it. Gently pat the mixture as to eliminate the lumps. This will give a smooth texture to your frosting as well as delectable taste.

  3. Blending the Ingredients:
Now add the mixture of dry ingredients in the butter and continuously stir it. A thick mixture will be formed. To smoothen the mixture, add some milk in it. Pouring all the milk at a time will make the mixture thinner. So, If the consistency of the mixture is too stiff, add one table spoon of milk at a time and continue stirring. Do not stop stirring until the mixture seems thoroughly moist.
If you mistakenly added more milk and a thin mixture is formed. You should not through the mixture away. Just add some more mixture of cocoa and sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time. The additional mixture of Cocoa and sugar should contain 2 parts of granulated sugar and 1 part of cocoa powder.

  4. Adding Vanilla to the Mixture:
Now if you think your mixture is consistence and moderately thick, it is the time to add the vanilla extract. While adding the vanilla extract, continuously stir the mixture.

  5. Adding Powdered Sugar:
Whisk the powdered sugar in the mixture. Don’t pour all the sugar at a time. This will create lumps in the mixture. You should add two tablespoon of Powdered Sugar at a time. To avoid formation of small crumps, gently stir the mixture. The powdered sugar will thicken your mixture making it more like a thick paste. This is good for your frosting as this will help it in holding its form better.

Note: Avoid the formation of lumps at each step as this will result in bad texture and nasty taste.

Your chocolate cake looks great. I prefer chocolate ganache as the frosting to your buttercream, but I would definitely eat a slice of yours. Must post my chocolate cake for you to see. X
