Immersion circulator or sous vide cooking

in #cooking7 years ago

My family have enjoyed the wonders of sous vide for the a couple of years
We went to a RV/trailer campsite in Cape May NJ yesterday and brought our sous vide with us. A couple hours before dinner we plugged it in and got the steak going.

It's a tub of water that is heated and circulated causing vacuum sealed pouches to be evenly cooked without loosing any flavor. To finish it off you sear the outside of meats. You can use a cast iron skillet, cooking torches, or a barbeque.

The results are amazing. Tender and cooked all the way through, every time.

We used to see sous vide on cooking shows and we're jealous because the devices were thousands of dollars. A few years ago home versions came down to really affordable price ranges and work wonderfully . We aren't trained chefs and we get to eat some high level food :)
