Courage is the ability to do something that scares/frightens you; bravery of getting over and above your fear factor to do the supposed impossible. Without fear, courage cannot be displayed.
We are always admonished to not be afraid and to do away with fear, but it is that same fear we feel whenever we do that enables us live up to expectations or not.

I was once told to be courageous by someone who had no understanding of what it means to be sacred. He even told me "it is weaklings that are scared",- a notion I disagreed with and still do.
I have been scared couple of times and I still get scared when the need arises. Do you need to be scared? YES. The things you know nothing about has the ability to rattle you and it is only when you have gone through the initial displacement that you can come out either running away from it or running towards it.
Running away from a situation means you just allowed the fear to stay raged up and running towards it means, you are facing it courageously.
You cannot be courageous if nothing scares you. It is in the face of fear, panic and uncertainty that your courage metre will be tested and thrown into play. Whenever you feel the fear factor gnawing at you, stop and get yourself ready to surprise even yourself. Do not concern yourself if you cried at first, (crying helps) just know that, there is a reason why you got scared in the first place.
Whenever fear comes calling, know it is time to buckle up and attack it with your might and with everything you have got. Some panic are in place to test your resolve so, be courageous in the face of fear and you will see how strong you truly are.

This is very motivational. As a person, things that do not scare me never gets the best out of me but when I'm faced with a situation in which I'm scared of the unknown and I'm finally able to be courageous and face it, I always give my best and the results are there to show for it.
