Both of course

How do you use it on the daily?

Yes, it is an investment. I do it.

Would you use it as currency?

If my country legalizes, I will use it. Currently, I invest some crypto and of course also trade it.

Where are you from?

Indonesia. Our country does not ban bitcoin, but there is little difference of opinion to crypto as payment.

Ah awesome, yeah I see that. It is still so early.

Is it illegal? I imagine unless there is specific law against it, it should be legal by default.

Is what Illegal?

Using cryptocurrency in Indonesia. Pretty sure it's not illegal.

Yes. All it will take is mainstream adaptation but blockchain tech will be used as a currency.

I would. Like I said below; it isn't much different than using your debit card if you can access those funds through a credit/debit card. How many of us physically hold cash these days? Less and less people do. I am one of those. It's just more convenient to do digital holdings and pay with a debit card.

I also invest @teukumukhlis 👍

Bitcoin is leading the way for Alt coins. Great time to be alive!

Exactly!!! Let’s get it!

I honestly feel that it will turn into a real form of currency. Look at how currency has changed over the ages. It has gone strictly from some form of coin to paper and now much of it is done digitally. I try to carry no form of physical currency on me other than my debit card. It's just so much easier to swipe a card rather than to have to count out a bunch of paper to get some coins back that I'm just going to toss in a jar. Currency is just something that a person gives value to no matter whether it is physical or not.

I don't think Bitcoin will become a currency in a way that we think of currency today. It is too expensive to spend. It will be more of a form of investment like gold.
We will be spending an altcoin with cheaper transaction fees for everyday items instead.

Very true.

You are probably right but @psykogamer is not wrong. If it is not Bitcoin, one alt coin will emerge to become a more stable, easy to access popular currency until the price of that altcoin rises and another alt coin follows up. Digital currency is a cyclic ecosystem guided by the market value.

OMG! You are so right. I agree, I think thats what most of us do. Toss the coins in a jar. You just inspired me to write another post. Ill save it for tomorrow.

Glad I could say some words of inspiration for you. I occasionally say some words of wisdom.

It is both and more. There are so many currencies in crypto; some with long term value and real use-case scenarios and others just being get rich quick schemes. Either way the tech is around to stay!

I am always afraid to trade because of the transaction fees and don't know exactly how to trade so I can make money. I am afraid that if I sell my bitcoin instead of holding it, I will lose money.

It is definitely a risk but the opportunity is there. With a little bit of research, patience and resilience you stand the chance to make more profit in the lower cap altcoins but bitcoin isn't a bad hold! I wrote this article on the exchange I like using most. You should give it a read: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@bcsaffy/why-binance-has-become-my-favorite-crypto-exchange

Thank you. Ill check it out!

good job on this!

Crypto is the future of money, Bitcoin is not. At least not the branch limited to about 3 transactions per second.

(Apologies, I'm at work and can't watch video, so I replied only to your title and text).

Oh video pretty much says the same thing except I rant about my shirt lol

Damn!!! Cryptocurrency is both an investment as well as the future of currency remember it's a digital world with a digital currency.
Banks already adopting the blockchain technology, Educational institutions accepting bitcoin as mode of school fees payment.
It gets more exciting with cryptocurrency. Sadly, I didn't get into it early enough.

I believe each iteration of blockchain must serve a purpose to have long term value. Bitcoin has become an online type of gold reserve, and in many ways a gateway into the cryptocurrency world of altcoins, as well as a giant investment pool of capital that can used to fund other projects.

Bitcoin has long term value because it's purpose (coincidentally) is long term value. (insert meme of crying football player holding a picture of himself crying).

As crypto evolves, Vertcoin or Litecoin will serve as a more liquid reserve between bitcoin and other altcoins, but Bitcoin is and will continue to be the gold reserve of the internet.

Crypto like Steem serves its purpose, and serves it very well. we are using it right now to communicate on several layers.

Hopefully as time progresses we won't need to exchange crypto clumsily, but use something like tenxpay (or insert whatever bitcard gets used in your area) for physical purchases and spending, and Bitcoin will be the gold reserve that holds the whole system thing together.

I loved your response, how do you pick out what alt coin to trade ?

Right now it's mostly an investment, but it will likely become common to use it as currency in the future. I think Litecoin will be currency, while Bitcoin will be a store of wealth. Once people catch on the Litecoin, and start actually using it, it's price will skyrocket!

Interesting question.

I am too much interested to trade in cryptocurrency, but I know little, can anybody tell me how to trade by steps to steps @ all my lovely steemit friends!!!

Hahaha. This made me smile.

oooooooh really

Ohhh gurl ...

What

; )

All good, i was a bit rude. Have a good day / night : )

Yeah, I think it is a good investment despite there is no 0 risk

nice post.

Thank You! 😉

Both. Remember when debit cards first started? It will take time, but it is still a bit risky. But, hey, we started with nothing for the most part.

I definitely put money into it but have made 100% of my investment. It is so hard to pull out even $10 from my account hahaha. 😝

I think it will become the main currency as time goes

How do we know that it isn't central banks around the globe buying cryptos? I also think the main beneficiaries are the electric utilities.

I mean would it even matter if its banks or people? 🤔

It does matter because central banks control the supply of fiat curency

Ah I totally see what you mean, I suppose they could buy it up and then control the price through owning the majority. 😳

Those who ones entered into cryptoccurency will never exit:)

Crypto currencies will replace the money for many sector and whole countries. They are more reliable, have value and the transactions with them are much cheaper and faster.

I see it as a currency. If we really want this to be new money, we need to spend it. Otherewise, what's the point of money you don't spend. As for bitcoin, yes, people consider it a digital gold and see it as a store if value. But there are other cryptocurrencies, that are cheap to transfer and faster. I think they have more chances to replace fiat rather than bitcoin.

People were asking this exact question 4 years ago. At the time people saw something that was $200 and had no faith investing into it. 4 years later and we are talking about something that has maintained an upward trend, Multiplied substantially in value, actually has utilized some real world vendors, and peers into the future of how technology will work. Block-chain is the Future and Bitcoin is the locomotive.

I feel like crypto currencies are the currency of the future, especially as society as a whole is starting slowly to move towards decentralization but I feel like bitcoin might get dethroned from being the go to cryptocurrency as soon as a more userfriendly alternative comes into play.

It is an investment, as the value is growing.

However there are fundamental challenges for everyday use. I do potentially see it transforming into an infrastructure currency. One that is traded by organizations as part of asset transfers. Such usages aren't very time sensitive and the security/confidence is much more important.

So bitcoin could be the foundation necessary to back more nimble cryptocurrencies that could be used for everyday transactions by regular people.

I think is the future currency but not as it is now there has to be alot if changes you added to system...well if that happens it would change alot of this in our system that wont be easy.... I just hope it doest end up partialy decentrilised......

I understand that you want to know what we think, but what do YOU think?

I really liked your video. You have undoubtedly a great talent of the artist. It is necessary to develop it further. I hope you will achieve great success.

It is a good investment as long as it has a good prospect of becoming a currency.

I definitely see it as a new form of currency. As Bitcoin climbs higher in value I think it will eventually sizzle out.

Hi @naiahyoung. I work at Unity, the game engine and I'd definitely like to get your insight on how you'd use cryptocurrency across a mobile platform with 50% of all mobile games? I’m wondering if you or your audience is familiar with Unity Game Engine and Development Platform. If so, from a Gaming or social Perspective, how would you use Crypto Currency in the Unity Game Engine?

Cryptocurrency is the future !!
So , if you are investing in cryptocurrency ,then you are investing for better future :)
