Disrupting The Music Industry With Blockchain Technology: Viberate ICO Starts Today!

The music industry isn't particularly fair - agencies and managers collect most of the revenue, and smaller artists are struggling to become recognized and not get exploited.

That's where blockchain technology comes in: due to its safe and transparent nature, blockchain technology has the potential to distribute the music agency and create a decentralized economy where musicians are paid fairly, and bookers and talents get together to create amazing music for the audience.

This is Viberate - a new music ecosystem and talent marketplace, powered by the Ethereum Blockchain.

What is Viberate?

Viberate is a blockchain-based music ecosystem, database, and talent marketplace for musicians.
They aim to disrupt the way musicians are being booked, and connect musicians with event organizers.
Additionally, they want to make the world of live music accessible to anyone by decentralizing discovery and booking processes with the help of the blockchain technology.
There are already 120.000 musicians who have signed up to Viberate's database.

Viberate is also a marketplace for talents - musicians can be booked through the system and and paid with the native cryptocurrency of the network: the vibe token.

Viberate joins the entire music ecosystem in one place. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a musician, event organizer, venue owner or just like to listen to good tunes and sing in the shower, Viberate has something for everyone.

How does it work?

Depending on your role in the music industry, there are many different things you can use Viberate for.
As a musician, you can create your online profile to present yourself and your skills.
As a booking agent, you can browse through a database of over 120.000 musician profiles, and book them directly through the platform.
As event organizers or venue owners, you can even setup a profile for your own venue and allow others to book it, or create an event by bringing musician and venue together.
And if you're simply someone who enjoys live music, you can keep track of your favorite artists, check events near you and even buy tickets directly through the platform!

Our vision is to revolutionize the way musicians are presented and booked as well as to open the world of live music to anyone who wants to participate in it by decentralizing discovery and booking processes with the use of the blockchain technology.

VIB token

The Vibe Token (VIB) is the heart of viberate's music ecosystem.
Vibes can be earned by anyone, for example by promoting viberate on social media, adding and updating new profiles within the database, adding events, writing articles or referring friends.
They can be spent to pay for event tickets, premium services, booking fees, or enable access to premium industry contacts.
Of course, VIB tokens can also be traded and exchanged just like other cryptocurrencies.

Viberate adviser: Charlie Shrem

Probably one of the biggest names on the Viberate Team is Charlie Shrem - @charlieshrem .
He supports the project as an adviser, and is convinced of viberate's potential to disrupt the music industry:

When Bitcoin came out, we had finance… Now we’re moving onto other ideas. How can we use blockchain technology to change the world and use it for disrupting things like the music industry and social media? That’s where Viberate comes into play!

Viberate Tokensale

The tokensale for Viberate has just started today, September 5, and will be running until October 4.
There is an initial supply of 200 Million tokens and the crowdsale is capped at approximately $12 Million.
The initial value will be 1 VIB = 0.1 USD, and participants of the ICO can earn bonus rewards when contributing early.
60% of tokens will be allocated to the crowdsale, while the rest will go to the team, investors, contributors, and reserves for the future.
You can contribute to the ICO by preparing your wallet with ETH, and then visit the tokensale page to make your investment.

Isn't Peerplays already doing this, or am I mistaken?

Yes there are several services aiming to achieve pretty much the same thing, musicoin is one of them too. but viberate focuses specifically on the live music industry.

Kinda interesting, but will it really compare to Spotify and Apple Music. I think the music industry is already taken over. It could last for a minute, but only time will tell.

Yes, that's true - but viberate offers some key differences compared to other streaming services.
it's also like a marketplace and facebook for musicians, and you can directly browse live events and buy tickets.

Musiconomi is similar and just finished its ICO which sold out pretty much immediately. Its worth checking out. They only had a $6mil hard cap so there will be a very limited supply and heavy demand when it his the public exchange during the next week or two. Should be a great pop.

Yes I actually wrote a post about musicoin a few weeks ago. I think both projects have a lot of potential, and the music will definitely face some major changes once blockchain technology gets implemented!

thank you for this information

You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it!

first of all I would like to congratulate you for the ICO’s success

Can you tell us when the coin will be put in our wallet MEW ?

Eh, eSteem ate my longish reply 😤

Yes, possibly great product and platform with Slovenian knowledge behind it. Worth watching and joining.

I love the background vocals of this band, DJ Umek especially 😃

Thanks for posting this.

Well, it's already over. 4:42 minutes 😃

Yes I actually saw that too! The whole ICO ended in under 5 minutes that's insane. Just shows how big the interest and potential is.

The thing is that this ICO and project could really produce something useful. They already maintain a huge database of all the parties interested in the platform - musicians, event organizers, agencies, ...

Now, all they have to do is to transfer it to blockchain somehow and add desired functionality. Like removing intermediaries and their fees :)

The new aspect is general public involvement which is something new for their current product. Social network attention economy and stuff :)

Very interesting! Thank you for sharing..looking forward to see where Viberate goes in the future. I will be following closely!

I just saw the token sale just sold out in a few minutes :o

This is going to be huge, big industry, big user experience, big marketing.
Thanks for the additional info

Thank fuck!! I seriously support any person or entity who is willing to go up against these power hungry greedy demons in charge of the music "industry" ourselves as musicians and artists have all the tools we need to take talent further, just need the dinosaurs to step out of the way. Shall follow you my friend, much love!

Thank you, appreciate it!

I may have to pick some up :)

Unfortunately the ICO already ended in less than 5 minutes!
That just shows how many people were eager to get their hands on it!

looks awesome !!!

looks good for the future of live music - i am a musician and i wonder if payments for live work are held in escrow by vibe , otherwise it is just another way for venues to not pay musicians and claim it was lost on the transfer.

Very interesting! I hope it's going to work out for talented musicians, as they definitely need more rewards for their work! Greetings from Vietnam @travellove

Naaaaaaah. My major issue with this is the rating system. Sorry but, fuck this. I don't want to be rated like I'm some sort of a kebab joint on yelp.

It looks like a black mirror episode....Everyone is going to turn into spineless beggars for "upvote" and a "positive review". I think the problem with the majority companies that create music startups is that they don't know jack shit about the industry.
@sirwinchester - What do you think?

This industry is so personal and i'm glad that music is an intricate standalone complex where you build real relationships with people and tell stories.
This looks like another startup - and I doubt anyone of those cats would invest millions just to "grow the community" and all that pseudo inspirational internet crap.

Bullshit.

Hi @sirwinchester i am impressed to learn of a platform where musician can sell their music as a markert place for them inorder to retain much profit whereby their funs can purchase their music with their crytocurrency that they have earn in Steemit blockchain, indeed this is a massive revolutionary to the music industry,i have really enjoyed this post thank you mr sirwinchester and keep up the good work you are doing on steemit.

You have a very fair thought.
Thank you for your beautiful articles.
I am new, but I would like to learn from the good contributions.
Greetings and happy day @sirwinchester
