What's for dinner tonight.. Garden edition

in #ctp2 years ago

Cooking with veggies from our garden is my favorite! I love that I know these veggies are picked fresh and haven't been sprayed with any chemicals.

The things we plant in the garden are pretty strategic. We plant fruit that my son loves, and veggies he will eat or that we use a lot of (trying to save $$ where we can, ya know?!)

One of the things my husband planted this year was bell peppers. We harvested quite a few this week- so I began the search for a good stuffed pepper recipe!

I found this one from Dinner at the Zoo blog. (Click link for full recipe)

There are quite a few steps, but the ingredient list was fairly simple!

We topped ours with a little bit of ranch dressing and some hot sauce - which really made it perfecto!

By the time we had dinner tonight- we were so hungry (my husband and I forgot to eat lunch) that I just about forgot to take a picture of the finished peppers! 😂
Better late than never, right?

Thanks, daddy! :)

I hope you really enjoyed those peppers. They look so tasty! There is nothing more satisfying than eating produce you grew yourself. 💚

It's true! They just taste better! :)

I bet they are delicious!

They were! My son loved the inside- I think the pepper was a little too tough for him though.

Maybe need to cook it longer to make it softer :)

Possibly!

I bet little man cleaned his plate with those tasty peppers. It's an all in one dish. You got your meat, veg, and milk. Thks for inviting us into your kitchen Katie.

He ate a LOT of the filling. . not so much pepper. I think it was too tough- as he is teething :/ But I still try to give him whatever we eat and expose him to all kinds of food!

Nice backyard peppers!

Visitng from listnerds :)

Thank you!

OH that actually looks nice. I never had stuffed paprikas before. I may want to try this soon. Thanks for sharing!

There are a lot of variations you can use! Hope you find one you like!

Great work Katie! For your food posts, did you consider posting in the Foodies Bee Hive community? Quite a few food lovers there would probably enjoy seeing your food posts!

Anyhow, keep up the great work on Hive!

I haven't- I will have to check that out!

I've also seen that the liketu.com front end is popular for photo-based family/lifestyle type posts too. It could be worth experimenting with that.

Be sure to also mention somewhere in your post "All photos are mine" if you are using your own photos so that curators can curate you more easily as different communities have different rules.

Here is a very helpful guide I can recommend to read.

Keep up the great work on Hive, you are doing awesome!

Oh- that is good to know! I always say if i use photos from a blog- but I guess I didn't realize I had to specify my own! 😅
