Who or what is @humanbot?
@humanbot is an extension of @carlgnash; in a nutshell, the content review services that @carlgnash has previously offered on his blog are moving here. Currently @carlgnash is the only voice of @humanbot, although eventually the plan is to bring in some additional trusted reviewers of content to help process submissions to the link drop.
What is the Curator Incubator and Link Drop?
This is a place for aspiring curators and anyone who wants to help an undervalued post be seen by more eyes. Drop links in the comments to good posts (original content only please, no copy pasta) by undervalued authors. @humanbot (currently just @carlgnash) will review every link dropped here and determine if it is original content. "Good posts by undervalued authors" is purposefully not defined here, this is open to interpretation to a certain extent and any submission of original content by another author is welcome.

To the aspiring @curie curators
@carlgnash is a curator for @curie. Let me speak in the first person here for a second as @carlgnash. I have achieved top curator status for @curie the past two weeks and have every intention of doing so to the best of my ability in future weeks as well. Yes, this does mean that I can recommend curators to @curie any week that I was top curator the previous week. No, this does not mean you should DM me or otherwise harass me about nominating you. This post is the official channel for you to impress me with your curation ability. You can do this in several ways:
- First, do not drop me links to your own posts or DM me about a curator nomination unless I specifically tell you to DM me. If you fail to follow these instructions, you will be instantly and forevermore blacklisted from future @curie nomination by me.
- Drop me links to posts that you think are truly exceptional here in the comments so I can get a feel for your curation style, what you are looking for and what your idea of exceptional is. You do not have to stick to the @curie guidelines - I am more interested in getting a feel for what kind of content you think is exceptional.
- Bonus points if you submit good original posts outside of the fields of art/music/photography/travel blogging. It is harder to find good original content in areas like gaming, science, health, etc. There is a lot of copy pasta and it is often much more difficult to tell with those kinds of posts if it is plagiarism. Prove to me you can identify quality original content in tags like this!
- Read through the posts that are left here in the comments by other users and tell me in the comments here if you think any are exceptional, and if so, why you feel that way. Please do not go through the comments here and trash submissions, telling me why you think they suck. Only reply to a post submitted by someone else in the comments here if you think it is an awesome post, and in that case, please say why you feel this way.
- I encourage you to leave good thoughtful comments in response to posts that you find through the incubator. As I work my way through submissions you will earn bonus points if I see you have been actively engaged in commenting.
- Check posts that are submitted here for plagiarism. If you can prove that a post submitted here for review is plagiarized, please leave any proof you have (link to the original content) here in the comments. A big part of being a @curie curator is being able to detect plagiarized content. Prove to me that you have a talent for this and you are ahead of the game.

some people might think this is boring but i am fascinated by history, and documenting it is hard work (I speak from experience). this guy transcribes a series of civil war letters.
These are both wonderful finds. I would venture to say that besides sporadic, those bike tour posts are just too long in format for the typical Steemit reader (I am somewhat sad to say). I left a comment to similar effect, phrased in a hopefully friendly fashion LOL

This was an amazing find @torico :) Verified original work and I am a huge fan of @bsteelemyart now! Some of the details from that painting were so hilarious. And I loved the technique of marker over the paint, it really gave it a unique feel - I thought it was digital painting at very first glance because of the crisply defined outlines. The process pictures and explanations of technique really pushed this post over the top from just another pretty picture to a great post. Cheers! - Gnashster

@umais I think you still need to work on your plagiarism detection skills. This author published another post the same hour this post you linked was published. First let me note that publishing two detailed articles in the same hour on different subjects is an almost certain sign of plagiarization in and of itself - nobody that takes the time to write two detailed articles would drop them at the same time, they would spread them out. But look at the content of those two articles. I am 100% certain, without a shadow of a doubt, that they were not written by the same person.
Compare this paragraph from the other post published at the same time:
With this paragraph from the post you link:The first quote is nearly perfect English. There are a few slightly strange word choices that indicate perhaps this was written by someone for whom English is a second language, but verbs are conjugated correctly, nouns are pluralized correctly, the sentences are complete sentences and punctuation is used correctly.
The second quote looks like it was either written by someone who barely speaks English, or like it was translated by a translation software that did a poor job. What the heck does this sentence mean? "Health issues are frequent effortlessly us and don't seem to obtain a permanent way to it." This is a nonsense sentence. The entire article is filled with stuff like this. "Frequent" should be "frequently" and "effortlessly" should be "effortless" but the word itself doesn't make sense here, and "don't seem to obtain a permanent way to it" means nothing.

Like I said previously I would actually advise submitting fewer links here, and instead focusing on really making sure they are quality and the author is quality. Make sure you look at the author's blog. I would never submit a post without first considering other posts the author has written - warning signs to look for include:

all the timeBTW calling @originalworks is a terrible way to tell if something is plagiarized. I see @originalworks signing off on plagiarized work , particularly when it has been translated from another language but even if just a few words have been changed around it misses it. Many times a simple Google search of a paragraph will reveal that just a few words had been changed, but @originalworks still didn't catch that it was copy/paste. I like @originalworks, it is a great concept, but it is not particularly reliable.

This one has some red flags to me that indicate large sections were copy pasted from another site - in particular there is a section that says "Comments" and then appears to be user names and comments - 100% certain this was pasted in, it looks like from the manufacturer's website or possibly a gaming site - there is really no scenario where someone would write something like that. I left a comment for the author to clarify what was actually his work and what was pasted in.

I think you are on the right track still and I appreciate that you tried to find some gaming posts - there is a LOT of plagiarism in gaming posts, it is why I said bonus points if you find something truly awesome and original there. Going forward why don't you just try to focus on showing me that you can judge what is TRULY exceptional quality in a post. Don't worry about what genre of post, etc. Maybe drop me fewer links to review, but make the ones you drop really count. Again I am very impressed with your commitment and engagement. I am not convinced this is original but I have not been able to prove otherwise yet. Looking at the author's posts I do not get the sense they were written by the same person. I may be mistaken, but this just feels off to me.
I downloaded some stylometric software tonight, I am going to see if the AI agrees with me that the posts are authored by different people. I will report back. Again, I could totally be mistaken. I am usually pretty good at feeling when something is off though
I also felt that at 'some' parts too.
Again, I could be (and hope I am) wrong. @curie reviewers upvoted this author... which is a decent sign, although Curie reviewers are not in infallible. I plan on coming back to this author and doing a deeper dive when I have some time to see if I can't make a final determination. It might just be English as a second language that is throwing me off. I appreciate your hard work here. Just FYI I have family in town today through the weekend and won't be online much.
