We have seen Google working on to improve their Google photos app since last few months and even they have released various updates including tagging and story features etc. Looks like Google is quite serious empower their Google photos app for photo as well as video playback and in the recent update they have added the functionality to zoom videos while playing it.
Though this update is it to get release but since Google is already working on it so we can hope to see you soon which will allow us to play videos on Google photos app. As on date there is no video player from Google but as per the details of this upcoming update looks like Google photo will be the one app for photo as well as video play.
