Tonight Friday the the 27th July 2018 we had the possibility of witnessing live a pretty rare event. A full blood Moon being eclipsed by the Earth. The longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century.
Needless to say this is not everyone's cup of tea but I am a little bit of a lunatic in the best sense of the word.
So what's the problem?
Sod's Law. if something can go wrong...it will.
Last night I set up my camera and shot the Moon just to make sure I had all the settings correct. The above video is from last night and the Moon looks pretty bloody.
Today after weeks of blistering heat in the UK. The heavens opened and poured torrential rain all afternoon and long into the evening. Cloud cover was 100% so I couldn't even see the Moon let alone film it while dodging the lightning. Which may have been funny to film?
I also went out in the daytime to take some photos and even the sunflowers weren't playing ball as they were all facing in the wrong direction...for me!
Well what do you do when it all goes wrong? Keep calm and watch the eclipse on NASA TV.
That's all folks. Have a great weekend. Better luck next century! :)
My video is at DLive
que hermoso
Gracias, me alegro de que te lo pasaras bien
I don't have a good view of the moon tonight, this is cool though.
Thanks mate, it was a once in a lifetime event. Glad you got to see it.
thanks for the reminder, my wife was insisting the blood moon was last night but I didn't think it looked that bloody
Not to worry we got there in the end. :)
The moon has not risen here and so I was real grateful for the live coverage, MM. It is truly a beautiful color:)
Me too after all this sunny weather and clear skies it was more than a bit irritating to not see it?
It wasnt going to be visible here either so I watched it online as well
Same here. The live feed was very clear and the cloud cover over me was total. Annoying British weather lol
@molometer I actually have been very lucky all but one of the times I have visited there I have been fortunate to have great weather
To be fair. Britain has a very temperate climate usually. More sunny days than we Brits give it credit for.
Just a little bugged I didn't get the eclipse. There's always another one around the corner. :)
I have never have luck with getting shots of an Eclipse, clouds always get in the way for me
good luck for the next one
