RE: High Water

Okay. Wow. That sounds more like what we can get here, minus the heavy snowfall. Which is okay by me.

Well, I do hope you guys get some relief and dry out before the main part of winter hits. We live as about as north as I ever want to live, but we haven't quite figured out where might be better, all around, including climate. There's always something lacking, even if other things are way better. It's going to be a trade off. And so we end up staying longer just because the net result is pretty much the same.

Well, that, and we're waiting for our two sons and their families to settle down so we can live somewhere between them so we can visit grandchildren. Not them. Just the grandkids. :)

Sort:

Haha! All my grandchildren are nearby and that's exactly what keeps me in Wisconsin!

The one we have now lives with us. The other due in December will be about 25 minutes away. Not sure how long that's going to last, but it will into the foreseeable future for both of them. The oldest son, with grandson coming, needs to find a job, though, and depending on where that is, might have to relocate. My guess, he's not going to find something where they'll be living, if he actually finds a job in his field of web design and development. Won't know until it happens, unfortunately. This grandpa gig is so far a lot of waiting and seeing. Boring! :)

My grandkids are all teenagers. I miss having little ones around. They grew up much too quickly!

I guess that means you just need to hold on until the next round. I'd like to see some great grandchildren before I go. I'd say great great grandchildren, too, but that seems a little too optimistic. Or drudgery, depending on how my body and brain are doing at that point. :)

My oldest grandson got married last year, so a great wouldn't be surprising And I have a step grand daughter who is 19.... I'm only 64, so a great great wouldn't be unheard of, but my health isn't the greatest so I don't know that I would be expecting that.

Let's see. How could I paraphrase this? Don't count your chickens before they're hatched, but don't count them out, either. Something like that. :)

Well, okay, then. I'd say a great grandchild is almost surely a lock. Something to look forward to. I'm not sure how this would work, other than somehow turning back the clock, but I've been thinking that having a more youthful body (my own) would be great for chasing the grandchild around. :)

I agree! I was diagnosed with MS almost 20 years ago, and for the past 5 years it has really slowed me down. But I still manage to move around on my scooter and have my house set up so that I am able to be pretty independent. And I love that my daughter stops by everyday and my son and his family come to visit and stay for the whole weekend a couple of times a month! So no complaints!
