Tips on How to Get a Smaller Waist

in #fitness7 years ago (edited)

Tip 1- CHANGE YOUR DIET

This is probably the most important thing you can do. Working out will only get you so far if you want to lose weight. The real change starts in the kitchen!

Now for some exercises! Here are some of my favorites:

2- Planks!

Planks are great for tightening the core muscles along with the shoulders and quads. YOU WILL FEEL THE BURN. Trust me :P Hold a plank for at least 45 seconds and then switch to a each side for best results.

3- Side-to-Side Twist With Medicine Ball

Don't know what else to call this exercise so side-to-side twist with medicine ball will have to do :P This is great for balance, and working your oblique muscles! (located on your sides). I am always sore after doing these!

4- Leg Lifts

Leg lifts are tough if you are not used to them. They are an exercise that everybody should incorporate into their routine. They mainly target the lower abdomen, which tends to be a problem area for a lot of people. A tip to make them easier for beginners: lay flat on your back and put your hands under your butt for stability, slowly move your legs up and down without touching the ground. If you want to make them harder, put your arms over your head while lifting your legs. They kill! :D

Hope this gave you some inspiration for the next time you hit the gym!

I like your moves for keeping a smaller waste. 😏
(Diet has got to be the make or break factor though.... Why!!!!? LOL)

I find these moves to be awesome for overall core and hip strength.
Always been favorites of mine and right on you, for sharing.

How many hanging leg lifts can you do before dropping down from the bar? 😋

hahaha i can probably do about 12 or 13 before feeling like i am going to die!

Thats really good that you can do that many before you feel discomfort, aka dying😫😫😫
lol 😂

I'm guessing you could double the number if you went for total failure...🤔😏😎

Stay awesome and steem on 🐳 Fitgirl!

Hahaha thank you for the support!! 🤗❤

Pilates is great for core strength, I go to a class once a week, our teacher is excellent, every week she has a different routine.
Last week we were doing planks with a foam roller under our knees, then under our toes (reduced balance = more control)! Then just to make it really hurt, push up from your elbows onto your hands (one hand at a time), without any twisting, then back down again.
I was still sore two days later, and Im still a fat fella!

Followed you.

At least you are trying! thanks for the follow :)

wow very nice post great work i like your moves for smaller wast

Thank you :)

@fitgirl totally agree with food being the number one advice for getting a smaller waist. I used to spend so many hours at the gym working hard and getting stronger and fitter but wasn't dropping the belly fat I so desperately wanted to get rid off. When I decided to change my diet and follow a clean eating lifestyle I started to see results and feel so much better physically and mentally.

Glad you discovered the power of eating right. Happy for you! thanks for sharing :)

Love your content @fitgirl ... I just followed you because of that. Those planks are the best and sometimes painful haha... but they do work to get those abs!

Aww thank you so much! Followed ya back :)

should probably have started working out again, but it's a little to late for this summer :) still doing a lot of sports just no gym... followed, upvoted & resteemed :)

Appreciate that! And its never too late :P

I recently began working out again, mainly doing calisthenics and cardio.

Following a healthy diet is really the key to seeing good results.
While is do planks and the side to side twists, I'm definitely going to give the leg lifts a try today.. even though it does look like a tough exercise lol

I just followed you and can't wait to check out your other posts!

Thanks for the support! :D

thanks for sharing :D I would never manage to get a waist like yours, I love to eat much :P :P but I try to go runny a lot :) :) following you and upvoted :)

Hahaha i love food too! All about balance. Thank you!! :D

"Toes-to-bar" is a pretty nice exercise for your mid section as well! :)
