Chè is a Vietnamese-origin dessert commonly served as a sweet treat. It comes in two main types: one is made from tapioca starch, cooked until thickened, and the other from coconut milk, fresh milk, and cream. Each bowl of chè is generously topped with a variety of toppings such as various jelly flavors, tapioca pearls, pudding, coconut milk. Additionally, they offer a wide array of other refreshing and delicious cold desserts like coconut sweet soup, mango Thai sweet soup, khuc bach sweet soup, mixed sweet soup, corn sweet soup, sweet potato sweet soup, Arenga pinnata sweet soup, and palmyra palm sweet soup. Moreover, in the winter season, they also serve traditional Vietnamese desserts like floating cakes or sticky rice with sweet soup, so even if you visit multiple times, you won't have to worry about getting bored.

Best-Selling Desserts and My Thoughts on Their Flavors:

  • Durian sweet soup was the sweet soup with the most ingredients, featuring chocolate jelly and white jelly made from fat powder and whipping cream powder, pandan leaf jelly made from pressed pandan leaves with crispy jelly powder, fresh jackfruit, crispy Arenga pinnata slices, and the most crucial ingredient, durian. Then, all the above ingredients were covered with a layer of coconut milk mixed with fatty fresh milk and served with grated ice. The most important thing was that these ingredients were cooked cleanly at the shop, unlike the cheap sweet soups at the market that used pre-cooked jelly packed in boxes and had preservatives imported from China. - Thai Grapefruit Sweet Soup: This type of sweet soup originated from Thailand and was cooked from ingredients such as grapefruit pulp, tapioca starch, semolina seeds, sweet potatoes, grass jelly, green beans, and coconut milk.

Sweet potatoes included 2 purple sweet potatoes and yellow sweet potatoes, which were boiled, mashed, mixed with tapioca starch, then shaped into cubes, and boiled until cooked. The grapefruit pulp was washed and marinated with sugar several times to remove the bitter taste, then cooked with brown sugar and green beans, and tapioca starch was stirred in until it became a thick grapefruit sweet soup mixture. The green fibers were made from tapioca starch mixed with pressed pandan leaves, then thinly cut into long fibers, added a little coconut milk and vanilla flavor, boiled until cooked, then soaked in ice water to maintain their form. Black jelly was cooked from a jelly package. Black jelly powder was available in supermarkets, or if it was more elaborate, the restaurant owner would take black water from leaves specialized in making black jelly, then add jelly powder and stir until the powder dissolved and air bubbles appeared, then put it in the refrigerator until it froze. Overall, this dessert was cooked very meticulously, and of course, it was delicious.

  • Young Coconut Sweet Soup: This type of sweet soup had main ingredients consisting of coconut milk, young coconut pulp, coconut jelly, and crispy white pearls. This type of sweet soup was simpler to cook than other types of sweet soup, rich in coconut flavor, and sweet. There were many other delicious desserts I planned to try later. In addition to sweet soups, that restaurant also sold spicy noodles, tteokbokki, kimbap, fried potatoes, fried sausages, skewered chicken, fried sweet potatoes, and more. What could be better after a meal? A hot bowl of spicy noodles followed by a cool sweet soup for dessert. The average price was 1 to 2 dollars for each dish.

The restaurant was clean and mainly sold online, so the decoration at the restaurant was quite simple, but they focused on food quality. Every time I ate there, I saw the staff busy preparing cups of sweet soup to ship to customers.
