Light shines in the darkness because the darkness has never been able to overcome it.

The morning after Crissy’s revelations about Bane’s Satanic practices, Andie still seemed subdued.

I knew the whole business involving demons terrified her and I also knew she was worried about my getting attacked and possibly killed.

I didn’t blame her for being concerned—I was terrified too until I witnessed the power of The Watchers and knew we had nothing to fear.

Andie looked pale and drawn. I knew she must have had a sleepless night and that’s why I decided to explain to her what happened after she went up to bed.

”I’m not scared of Bane and his demons any more,” I told her, “and you shouldn’t be either.”

She looked at me wth pity. “You just don’t understand the power of evil, Sugar—I’m sorry I even told you about Bane and his black arts.”

“But that’s what I’m trying to tell you, Andie. After you went up to bed, a demonic chorus confronted me chanting demons’ names and intending to terrify me with oppressive visions.”

Her jaw dropped. “You mean they manifested here, in this house and you actually saw and heard them?

“Oh yeah, and it was pretty horrifying until The Watchers showed up. You should have seen it—it was awe inspiring. A golden wave of light swept the demons away as if they were black sludge. And afterwards I was soothed by a what felt like a summer breeze, gentle and comforting.”

“Good God almighty! Why didn’t you wake me and tell me about this last night, Darling? I would have slept like a baby knowing The Watchers adopted you as their own personal project.”

“I guess I should have,” I said sheepishly.

“Well, no sense crying over spilt milk,” she smiled, hugging me. “Now that we know you’ve found favour with the angels, ain’t nothing Malachi Bane and a whole army of demons can do to defeat us. We should tell Crissy the good news. She needs encouraging too—that girl is brave but now she can relax knowing this fight isn’t just ours—the angels are on our side too.”

When Andie shared the good news with Crissy she was over the moon with joy. “I ‘m coming over to tell you both the next steps we need to take to defeat Bane and his Satanic army. Put on the coffee and I’ll bring croissants!”

We sat again in Andie’s front room discussing tactics and planning ways to get tangible evidence that could be used in court to bring Bane to justice.

Crissy laid out her plan to Andie.

“The detectives I approached about bringing charges against Bane suggested Paul could be outfitted with a covert camera and wire. Bane is planning an ‘empowerment session’ for mid-week. Assuming Paul can convince Bane he ’s had a change of mind and decided to attend, then we could record the proceedings and be able to get a warrant and an arrest.”

Andie still looked apprehensive. “It sounds dangerous—what will happen if Bane discovers Paul’s a spy?”

Crissy smiled confidently, “The detectives arranged to have a swat team available and posted just outside Bane’s estate—at the slightest hint of danger they’ll go into action.”

“That’s reassuring,” Andie admitted.

Crissy nodded and added,

“Besides, we have the angels on our side and no walls or barriers can prevent them from coming to Paul’s rescue as they already have on several occasions. It’s Bane and his horde that need to worry.”

Having seen how easily The Watchers swept aside the demonic chorus, I had to agree with her entirely.

Bane and his Satanic accomplices were heading for a reckoning, long over due in my opinion.

If the angels were with us, nothing could stand against us.

To be continued…
