It is a great day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!
We made a delicious feast for our full time volunteers on our indoor wood burning stove rather than on the rocket stoves of our sustainable outdoor kitchen. We stayed nice and toasty, had a fantastic meal, AND heated water for showers for super sustainable efficiency. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you!
We made a delicious meal with garden salad, creamy vegetable soup, roasted chicken, and steamed squash!
We started our delicious meal with a delicious garden salad! This had a bed of mixed greens topped with cucumber, peppers, carrots, and purple basil.
Then we made a delicious, comforting, creamy soup with turnips and carrots. It was a beautiful color, and the chopped green onions we sprinkled on top really made it pop!
For a side dish, we steamed some sweet and wholesome acorn squash. This has lots of fiber and vitamins A, C, K, and some Bs, and it tastes wonderful! Steaming it is an easy preparation and doesn't add any extra fat or calories. We made up for that by adding delicious chunks of butter to melt on top! Honestly most of us don't pay too much attention to fat or calories and instead eat what satisfies our bodies.
We made a platter of rotisserie chicken for our meat eaters. It was tender, succulent, and juicy, with a nice blend of herbs and spices on the flavorful skin.
We served extra chopped green onions on the side, plus shredded parmesan cheese for sprinkling on top of dishes.
We like to offer lots of options for customizing each serving to everyone's exact tastes. The soup was especially dank dressed up with some dried cranberries, chopped green onions, and toasted pumpkin seeds!
We enjoyed sharing today's meal with each other and gave thanks for this supremely blessed life. Thanks to @quinneaker for dreaming up such a reality, sharing his home and table for a decade, and inspiring a more wholesome and satisfying way to live!

We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!
