It is a lovely day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!
We made a delicious feast for our full time volunteers on our indoor wood burning stove rather than on the rocket stoves of our sustainable outdoor kitchen. We stayed nice and toasty, had a fantastic meal, AND heated water for showers for super sustainable efficiency. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you!
We made a traditional Southern meal!
We made an apricot glazed ham, sautéed Brussels sprouts with mushrooms and onions, steamed acorn squash, creamy mashed potatoes, garden salad, and herbs and garlic in olive oil!
We started with our beautiful garden salad. We tore mixed greens and topped them with yellow squash, red onions, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and fresh cilantro. It is great fun to pick our dinner from the garden each day!
We finely chopped fresh garlic and let it marinate in olive oil with herbs from the garden. This is a delicious drizzle on almost any dish, plus it has super antimicrobial compounds.
We steamed a sweet acorn squash and scooped the flesh out of the shell for a delicious and simple side. This is a favorite veggie for almost everyone here. The children especially love this brightly colored and flavorful squash!
We made a big pot of creamy mashed potatoes and topped them with garden fresh chives. We boiled cubed, peeled potatoes and mashed them with butter, cream cheese, and a little bit of the cooking water to make these decadent and smooth!
Here's a hot, steemy close up of our über dank mashed potatoes. Oh yassssss!!!
For another side dish, we lightly sautéed fresh Brussels sprouts in olive oil with onions and sliced mushrooms. This is one of our favorite ways to enjoy Brussels sprouts! They are also super delicious with a little but of crumbled bacon mixed in, but we made this dish vegan for everyone to enjoy.
For our meat eaters, we prepared a ham with a honey-apricot glaze. Sweet fruit pairs nicely with this salty meat!
It was a fantastic meal, and everyone had plenty to eat! We even had some mashed potatoes left over that we will likely polish off before tomorrow's feast.
Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!
Food is an honored & elemental part of our daily life in community. You can learn more about our unique, intimate, and super sustainable relationship with food here!
Photos are original to our epic feast and highlight just a taste of the thousands upon thousands of free meals we share every single year.
We are happy & grateful to share our abundance - there's more than enough of everything! If you or anyone you know wants or needs food, contact us - we will give you free food, no questions asked. We make this offer every single day, because we are here to help one and all.
Because we stand in support of the greatest good & especially the revolutionary potential of this platform, we've never cashed out any $teem or even powered down - which is good for everyone! This means that when you upvote our posts, you are increasing the value of your own $teem wealth as well!
Do you believe our efforts are valuable and beneficial for the world?
Can you match our annual contributions of feeding 40,000, saving 350,000 pounds of trash from the landfill, achieving a negative carbon footprint, providing a safe space for families and children to thrive, and educating hundreds of thousands of people for free?? If you don't have the time or manpower to change the world in this way, then consider sharing your resources so we can do the work for you!

Dinner dancing!
Haven't been able to cook creatively for a couple of weeks. This is fresh inspiration. I especially like the brussel sprouts idea; I do use bacon, but this is added inspiration and variety. Thanks!
You're welcome! Hope you'll be able to return to creative cooking soon @aerialpegasus, if it's something you enjoy doing.
Omg!!! You make so much tasty and beautiful foods that keep me hungry for the rest of the day. Lots of love, sir for your blessed mission.

excellent indeed that all these dishes that prepared today in the garden of eden are wonderful and look very exquisite, besides that each dish looks very healthy for our health and always with that touch to the field since they are made in their stoves Outdoor rockets are even better. I love how that pure creamy potato looks.
Cooking over fire adds a taste and feel to the food that can't be recreated by cooking over gas or electric. Thanks for your support @alejo1996 !

Thank you!
Super delicious foodography.
But when you say;
Would that not tantamount to waste?
Meanwhile, the onions and other veggies are nicely chopped, which makes the dish even more inviting.
Do you also offer catering tutorials to interested people?
If not, I think you should. You have the resources to pull that off.
Cheers 🍻 @gardenofeden
No, we don't waste food. If we have leftovers, we serve them for breakfast or lunch.
We also give kitchen scraps to our chickens, who are an integral aspect of our food production system.
Anything that is not eaten goes to the compost pile to make more Earth, which we use to grow more plants!
Everything is utilized in a sustainable and efficient system.
We publish mouthgasmic food formulas about once a week, and we do offer catering services. As far as doing tutorials with video, once again our limiting factor is time. We can do anything, but we can't do everything! We have lots of projects on our plate and it is a matter of prioritizing the most important.
Thanks for the suggestion, @fada.emma!
