RE: My Hive Retirement Party!

in #goofbye2 months ago

The control freaks claim another victim.
After 10 years of this, do we get to call it a cabal, now?
'They' have been playing the same tune all along.
And, haven't been shy about stating that fact.
It's just that the very idea is too far outside the wheelhouse of most people, so they reject the idea out of hand.
'Well, I would never do such a thing.'
That is right, most wouldn't.
But, here we are, 10 years in.

Hate to see you go, but IF you go, you are simply one more of the thousands that have dropped us like we were hot.

Thank you for stopping by the party. I need some to think how to respond. I would upvote you now but I’m low on mana.

Me needing more mana is like the Hive equivalent of us needing to do a beer run 😆

Honestly this part of the comment really made me chuckle 🤣

I still think Cabal is the wrong word. Cabal would mean it’s a secret group.

Like it’s pretty transparent when people do stuff here. Like you can easily see who votes for what proposals, who upvotes who, and who downvotes who.

That’s not a Cabal imo.

I mean Cabal sounds cool though so maybe that’s why people say cabal.

Like imagine if they have drinks and snacks at parties and do chants? 🤣

Anyways, most blockchains have a smaller group of people that are more influential than others.

Even Bitcoin only has 6 people that hold the keys to merge code for Bitcoin as an example.

Hate to see you go, but IF you go, you are simply one more of the thousands that have dropped us like we were hot.

Well I’m not dropping Hive like it’s hot. I just want to invest in other things. There are a lot of undervalued things right now imo because the “market” is so fearful.

Drop It Like It’s Hot is a good party song though. That’s the first thing I thought of when I read this part at the bottom. 😅

A cabal would be a group of poeple that use thier power exclusively for their own benefit and to the detriment of those not in the cabal.

The term cabal primarily refers to a small group of people united in a close design to promote their private views or interests, often through intrigue, secrecy, and conspiracy, usually without the knowledge of outsiders.
While the word's etymology traces back to the Hebrew qabbālāh ("received doctrine") and the Jewish mystical tradition of Kabbalah, its modern usage in English carries negative connotations of political purpose and secret plots.

And, yes, it is missing most of the secret part.
But, we don't know who is holding all the hive on the exchanges.
Somebody with money to spare, for sure.
Same with whomever is supporting the price.

As long as smart contracts get delivered, it's blue sky flying.
