In the modern times, I feel like everything is changing. From the smallest of things to the largest, every single thing is evolving with new ways. No doubt, this has made our lives much easier and we now have access to newer things much easier than ever before.

But some where, due to all these rapid changes, we are forgetting our old customs. The customs that are totally valid, functional and can change our day to day lives for the better in certain ways, even today.

The evolution of things is fine, as long as they make things better, but that is not what we often notice. Take health for example. We have drastically changed the food that we eat and also the way we eat and drink, which is actually detrimental to our health. The same goes to so many other aspects of our health which I want to now talk about.

Things We Can Learn From Days of Old

Everything new today, somewhere has roots in the old ways but for the sake of modernisation, we have done so with our health too and that has been the reason for the rise of health problems.

But, if we can bring back those traditional elements to our lifestyle, we could improve our health a lot. And we don’t even need to do a lot. Just some little changes here and there.

If we take a look at the reason behind the increasing health problems, we can see that our eating habits has been the main cause, these days. In ancient times, people used to strictly sit down while eating and drinking. But today we don’t pay any heed and just because of that, we have to face problems like joint pain.

We also know that people in the past used to use copper and silver utensils rather than plastics and melamine utensils which we commonly use today. There are many health benefits of copper and silver. One of the many being that they are anti bacterial, which protect us from many diseases.

Yoga has been practised for centuries in India and almost everyone used to do it. It has such immense health benefits, both for the body and the mind. It makes you much more organized and positive in all the situations. But in the modern times, this trend has reduced greatly. But recently it has been gaining more and more attention, which is a positive news.

Also, we need to look at the effect of technology in our lives from a health perspective. Though technology has made our life much more easier, it also has affected our day to day lives. We are getting closer to people who are miles away and getting away from people who are close to us.

Even kids, who used to go out and play and do a lot of physical activities, are today staying indoors more with one or the other gadgets in hand continuously. This inactivity causes many health problems right from childhood.

So, as you can see, there is a reason for the customs and traditions and the way things were. We don’t need to forget those to live a “modern” life, especially when they have such great benefits in our life.

Be Healthy, Be Happy.
