Honey- The Liquid Gold

in #health6 years ago

Honey is sweet liquid gold that made by honey bees by collecting nectars from different types of flowering plants. Honey bees collect nectars from all the flowering plants, but mostly they take it from Sunflowers, mustard flowers, and Eucalyptus Tree. Honey bees first transform this nectar into honey by regurgitation and evaporation process. After this process when honey is formed bees store it in their wax honeycombs inside the beehive as a primary food source for the season when there is the shortage of nectar. Humans harvest honey from beehives for their consumption.

Generally, there are two forms of honey one is raw and another one is purified. It is said that raw is more healthy and has more power to fight against the disease. Raw honey is that which is removed from hives and packed directly, so they contain pollen grains and wax too. But purified honey is firstly heated and free from impurities. Honey contains a high level of glucose, fructose, and monosaccharides. Honey also contains 60-80% sugar as well which provide it its sweet taste. Honey act as an antioxidant, antibacterial and an antiseptic agent also it plays a crucial role in weight loss too.

It is a chemical compound that regulates the length and quality of sleep. Melatonin is a hormone which is responsible for regulating sleep and wake cycles in our body.

I like it too and eat frequently :)

Best honey I've ever had is Tasmanian honey.

Though, if ypu have allergies, its best to eat local honey. Bees that create honey from plants that cause allergies has been said to help mitigate painful and annoying allergies. (Only from what my friends says, I'm lucky enough to not have allergies...)

I have always loved local honey. It tastes really nice and rarely cause allergies.
