From The Stealers To Bittrex

in #hf0234 years ago (edited)

With Steem Hard Fork 0.23, Hivians who raised their voice against the forceful centralization of SteemIt, were supposed to lose their holdings on the forked SteemIt. No, 13 weeks of power down doesn't seem to be a way to say good bye without getting into an ugly fight. The HF 0.23 was done to steal their holdings.

The list of accounts that were to be nulled started growing as they chose to protect the network from the force and oppression. You can find the list of some of the accounts that were getting punished in a post by @deniskj below.

A number of Steem stakeholders raised their voice against the HF 0.23 and also made an appeal to Cryptoexchanges to not implement the changes that come with HF 0.23. @brianoflondon wrote a post about the 'Letter to Exchanges'.

The letter was drawn up by @apshamilton and it requested the exchanges to prevent the theft of more than $5 million crypto assets, i.e., more than 23 million Steem. A new Steem account @community321 was created for the movement of funds from these accounts.

@brianoflondon also appealed to make this message viral on Twitter so that everybody gets to see what's happening. You should read his post at the link below.

However, the HF 0.23 did take place and transferred 23.6M Steems from all these users' accounts to @community321. That's not the end of the story.

These funds were then transferred from @community321 to bittrex. The transaction had a memo that stated "hese are funds stolen by steem witnesses using HF23 May 20th 2020 - please return them to their original owners prior to the fork :)". I came to know about it by reading a post from @aggroed .

@apshamilton jokingly said that they will make a movie on what just happened. 20 minutes later, a message was sent from @community321 to @justinsunsteemit in Korean that said, "Stealing is bad".

I don't know Korean, so I didn't understand it. If you do understand Korean, you can read and understand the message yourself. You can go to the @community321 account to see the activity yourself or checkout the screenshots posted by @apshamilton in the post below.

Some people don't understand the nature of Decentralization, they should.
