'Uh, The Weather Is So Heavy Today!'

This beautiful clock-looking item actually measures pressure in the air. For a king, it was probably really cool to show off with his new toy. :D Joke aside, this is the coolest barometer, I've ever come across. I can almost see a bunch of court people gathering around it and finding a great excuse for feeling dizzy, tired or generally unwell because of the changing air pressure. :D Imagine the hours put in this.

When these things were invented, the art jump in to help the science create a jewel that we see. Makes me think, how does art help science these days? It doesn't, as if it fears science. The modern design of gadgets is the closest we come to art these days. We could maybe call this a well-designed piece but its so much more than that. Wouldn't you agree?**

Enjoy your day! :)

It really is a work of art, @velimir! I never would have imagined it was a barometer. At this time perhaps what works when making an invention is not that it is beautiful or that it is harmonious, but that it is easy to carry and that many people can acquire it. I imagine that with this device there were very few who knew how the day had dawned. ;) Good images of a beautiful relic. Hugs

@velimir you always inspired people who are living life just within the four walls of their own houses with your post.

I totally agree with you, @velimir. This is a piece of beauty, a true relic. Today science creates another kind of gadgets and I consider that they are also works of art, especially electronic equipment that have a lot of miniatures that together make them work and are very helpful today.
