You remind me of the guys in movies who end up being held hostage in a group of people then end up betraying someone in the group to save their own ass...those people ultimately always end up dead. That's because they naivete to the real threat imposed and that is trying to friend the bad guys doesn't work.

One point that is obvious here that both you and Tucker seem to miss is the fact that people who overdose on opioids do so of their own free volition, nobody forces those people to make the choices that they do. If they weren't killing themselves with opioids they'd find something else to kill themselves with. Our military personnel is voluntary, they know the risk involved but again they chose of their own free will to put themselves within the realm of choosing to do that which places themselves in danger. Some chose it as a lifetime career, some men are just built that way, they enjoy the intrigue and the challenges. Who is it that you, I, mom or pa should stand in the way of that which they freely chose to engage. Freely choosing what one wants to engage in is in stark contrast to those who are killed everyday in the middle east just because they are not of the right ethnicity or have a difference in religious doctrine. You couldn't even label the atrocities as being anywhere near close of being bias, it pure out right hatred. That hatred has existed for hundreds of years, way before the existence of the types of military capabilities we have today, way before the need for vast amounts of oil, natural gas or any other natural resources. Sure everyone wants a piece of that pie as that pie as a whole enables those who reap the benefits of the whole pie can finance and develop the kind of arms that lets them go out and take everyone else's pie away from them.

That's why even though a vast majority of people who have come to grips with the fact that infrastructure, nation building, democracy isn't a viable strategy when it comes to the middle east the plain fact of the matter under laying all of this is that the hatred is deeply woven into the fabric of the middle east and once they genocide everyone with any political, religious or difference in ethnicity's they'll go on to develop the technologies that can be used against those outside their borders to force compliance upon the rest of the world. That's why it's critical when it comes to who has power over those resources because surely as some accuse others of using the resources to their advantage that's exactly what the other side is going to do.

That's exactly what has been shown to us in the last several years in regards to Iran. The world stepped up to the plate for them and what did they get for it?...maybe they weren't enriching uranium but they ran around several countries organizing and financing terrorist organizations to wreck havoc in others countries. In doing so they became responsible for thousands of deaths and many hundreds of Americans lives not to mention how many Iranians were killed in Iran over protest against the government. They just literally mowed people down, this wasn't exclusively just about America or Americans, they mowed people down because they weren't the right ethnicity as such they didn't fall into the same line of thinking as the right ethnicity. Many thousands of those people have chosen to come here to the United States for those exact same reasons, they would be or got tired of being persecuted in their own countries and they thrive alongside their American counterparts. That's the huge difference here, it the choices being made. When those choices are the wrong choices then the rest of the world is jeopardized and it's only a matter of time when it grows out of control. That is exactly what was happening here, an evil that had grown out of control. Left to their own devices, which basically they were, they had shown the world they had no intention(s) of playing nice even when trusted to be given the chance. Face it dude, they screwed up, sometimes in life a handshake and signature just isn't going to do it when it comes to some people.
