When it comes to talk about Urban life many matrialistic luxury items like, big office complexes, shopping malls and many other thing comes flashing in front of our eyes. All the things which can simply makes people life beautiful are easily available in the urban area. Urban area generally constitutes that part of the society which are developed and having all the civic amenities. People from far off places comes looking for their establishment in these urban areas and adapt according to its culture. However, beneath all the comfort and luxury there is a certain segment of people who often seen living a Nomads life.
Nomads are those who often seeing shifting from one place to another and do not have any fixed location address. The more interesting things is about life of these people who mostly constitutes of labour class that keeps migrating from one place to another carrying all their small holding only in search of carrying on with their and their family livelihood.
Another amazing thing that I noticed is that they do not have any luxury but still live peaceful life of their own without any comfort.
It was 3 member team of labour who came into our house for digging borewell. Obviously they were working for some contractors, and visited our site to spend 2 days and 3 nights. In all they are actually great example of coordination and team work. They hardly seen shouting or making noise. They simply carry on with their work with supreme accountability.
What they were carrying along with them is also very noticeable. They are not owning nor carrying any luxury item. Looking at their stuffs that was spread on the ground on first night mostly constitutes of
- 2 bags,
- a small gas cylinder,
- a waterproof tent,
- an iron bed,
- few cooking utensils
- a drum for carrying diesel
Soon on their arrival, they firstly shift themselves in their tent. It was small tent only to protect them of extreme heat or rain. And properly arranged all their belonging inside.
While conversation with one of them, in between of their work, I manage to figure their life style.
On reaching to their work site, they unload all the heavy earth movers and equipment, and then arrange for their shelter. They usually woke up early around 4 AM and start with all the initial measurement of the boring area, in between one of them, cook for all, which mostly constitues of Rice and Vegetable. They generally have 2 meals in a day(morning & night). After having their breakfast cum Lunch in morning, they start with their digging work which has no time limit. They can run the machine and manage everything till late at 10 PM. In between, one of them again cook food for the evening.
A great example of team work and coordination. Infact their work require much more of it.
All 3 of them are from different areas and working together since many years. Thats how they developed such a unique bonding. They understand and compliment each superbly. They also told me that they visit their home once in a year to meet their family.
From unloading, to fixing the machine, then handling all the digging process. These nomads people are not educated or literate but they efficiently carry everything. They do not have qualification or understand beging those big heavy machine, but carrying out the job with 100% accuracy are their main target. This also shows, where there is dedication, people don't need education. Even I failed to understand the working module of the big machine, but these uneducated nomads making their work quite easier buy handling of their own.
Life teaches us many lesson and may be these Nomads people know how to learn from the life. They are not educated still they are engineer of their own.
Once they complete their task at one place they load all their belongings and machine and start moving towards a new destination. They simply follow their head command, who keep manouvering from one place to another. And sometime, they need to spend for many days, untill they get another assignment.
Simply, an urban life that no one wants, still these labour make the most of it, by keeping the nomadic culture still alive around the Urban areas.

Yes they have one. They don't have any other option. May be they are living their life among iron rods only. Be it those big borewell pipes or the machine and carrying a wooden or plastic one or any other material, won'tbe a better bet
