I think I'm going to be using the open mic to get back into songwriting. Every time I will spend between 10 minutes to an hour jamming on the theme and share my result.
It's been two years since I wrote a full song, maybe this will get the juices flowing again.
I just need an excuse to pick up the guitar...I feel the energy flowing back to me already 🙂 This weeks theme was "Motivation to Achieve"

From a search I found mostly Korean stuff 😉. I think I already recommended you my favorite Korean stuff. A total of 3 artist lol I don't know so many. But my gf has been really into MayTree which is an adorable and talented a cappella cover group. They do mostly theme songs, games and other things in pop culture but make it more interesting.

That is great, you for sure found your motivation in this week's topic. And it is true, we need some "excuse" to pick up our instruments and play... but then, we are happy we did it, isn't it like that?
If I have musicians who like to jam living in the same area and a comfortable place to play casually then it's easy and natural. I have the former but not the latter. Actually I'm not supposed to play in my room but my neighbors don't seem to mind and are often not home so it's been ok so far.
Any excuse is a good one to create! And if it's for spaces, even better hehe. You sing great brother, like an Arabian style. Cheers!
Haha thank you. People say that sometimes although I haven't really thought about it. I listen to a lot of traditionally influenced modern music but not much from the Middle East...yet! I've particularly enjoyed Mongolian and Viking music, as well as Baden Powell from Brazil. I do think I've been slightly influenced by the indigenous or mountainous music of Asia, although it's very subconscious as I don't listen to so much from there...yet!
Haha, that's right, and it's funny what you mention with that influence you have with respect to indigenous Asian mountain music. I was influenced in the beginning by southern indigenous music from Latin America, but I went off in other directions in the end 😅
