The mushroom towel is awesome.

That kitchen bar is just perfect for 2 people.

No TV is a good choice. I'm pretty sure you'll have an amazing sound system instead. As an option, think about getting a projector - take up way less space, don't need to hang on the wall, and you don't need any extra remotes or configurations besides what's on your laptop.

Hungover from prosecco? How much did you have?

I'm glad you chose pine for the wrapping! It will combine perfectly with that wonderfully amazing out of this world pine floor! Best one I've ever seen!

The Vintage lamps look pretty awesome there.

And considering where you started - what a huge progress! And being debt-free thanks to selling the garden with house attached must be a great feeling again. I love being debt free and hope I'll never have to take a credit in my life - though I think it might happen one day. But each step at a time - first moving in with Ellie and her daughter. Then see if that works out. Then see if we settle into our own house. Until then, I'll look at your and Galenkp's house projects to get ideas :-)

Oh man it's so sweet to have no debt. The average Aussie mortgage is 700 k. We never overstretched so it was do able. I'm sure you will do same. I'm excited about you moving in with Ellie. I'm sure you'll make it work.

Thanks for gushing about the floors... They do look amazing and you know the hard work that went into them!

Um... I never drink prosecco but between four of us we had three bottles, a bottle of white and a bottle of red. I'm still recovering. I blame my sister.

The towel I got from my mother in law....

We did think of a projector but we are fussy about sound and I'm just not sure which one will be good enough. Cheap ones are cheap. We will just snuggle up in bed with the laptop which has worked so far. And yes, we have a good quality sound system Jamie cobbled together from second hand finds!

For years we have made rentals, trucks, caravans and busses feel like home. You don't need to buy a place to feel that. We are just lucky - right time, a bit of luck. We also bought in an area that sky rocketed just after the financial collapse. So 300 k house turned into 1.22 m 16 years later. And we bought the new place in a slump and sold on a rise. All luck. So may that luck bless you and Ellie x
