Been in a Hive slump lately. Sorry, just not been around as much. However, been focusing mostly on some self-care stuff. As I stated in the last post, I was out of the black hole, but was still teetering on the edge. Been spending a good deal of time off Hive and social media communicating with family and friends. Things are getting much much better. I do appreciate all those that have checked in on me and provided well wishes. It meant a lot.
The heat has still been a pain in the ass. Got a little sidetracked on the garage cleanup. Switched to the basement office and ham shack cleanup and prep since it's been hot. And frankly I haven't felt all that well lately. Feeling okay now for the most part. Worked on the garage more this afternoon and plan to do more tomorrow. Still supposed to be hot so don't expect much to get accomplished though. You do what you can when you can.
Had breakfast with one of the old timer Marine friends this morning. Hit up one of the local Waffle Houses. Nothing special. Just a greasy omelet with everything in it and some stuff that passed as coffee. But it was good company and good conversation. Sometimes that's all you need. Get out of the house. Sit across from someone who gets it. Talk about nothing and everything. Good for the soul.
Shit with the gas company finally got sorted. Technician came out and seems the meter was bad. They switched it out and our bill is supposed to be corrected in the next cycle. One less thing to worry about.
Taking it one day at a time. Some days are better than others. Some days I get a lot done. Some days I just sit and breathe. That's okay.
So what is everyone's plan this weekend?

Thanks for reading,
Joe

I wish I had your garage!!! Mine is a disaster. Ever since we moved at the end of '23 stuff has been piled in there and I've been afraid to tackle it. A coincidence (with your blog) that I started to tackle it for the first time tonight. Managed to empty two bins. It's a start. Step by step. A lot of memories in there. Cleaning that stuff is an exercise in letting go.
I'm glad you went out with your friend. That's really the best thing. Nothing beats good company (food didn't sound so great 😀)
Hope you are feeling better soon.
Two bins is a good start. That is kind of how we are with mine. Just one or two items at a time. Step by stpe like you said. I am feeling better thank you.
Meeting friends is good, especially if you get along well. Getting shit done is even better. You'll feel better soon.
Yeah, getting together with friends is something I need to do more of. Same with getting shit done, lol.
That looks better than my garage. Nice job!
Some days you just gotta survive and worry about the to-do list another day.
Last weekend we painted the master bathroom, so this weekend will be as mellow and uneventful as possible.

You should have seen it a couple months ago. There was a small "goat trail" from the garage door to the door into the house. It was bad. LOL
Yeah, today is one of those days where I piece meal things a bit at a time.
Oh, painting! Hate painting. Would rather do hard labor than painting.
Haha, well I bet it feels good to see the progress!
Yeah, I'm not a fan of painting. My wife did find a $5 edging tool at Lowe's that made it much faster, so at least we had that going in our favor. 😁
It does, but will feel better once completed.
Edging tools are lifesavers!
Looks much better than my junk cluttered 100+ year old garage that I can't fit a car into.
🤗
Can't fit a car into my garage either. Probably never will.
Don't feel bad, everyone has been in a HIVE slump lately. Even HIVE.
Yeah, seems so. Usually writing is a release for me. Not lately though.
Thank goodness you are still making progress and the gas company figured out the issue. Hope you feel stronger and stronger every day.
Thank you so much!
