Hello hello silver bloggers, music lovers and Hello hivers!

Inspiration don't you just love it? Well it hits in different places and I love it when I get inspiration from fellow Hivers.

Today though the inspiration comes from RL! Yes that thing outside of Hive lol!

Mrs T had found some wee crochet pattern recently and was making skeletons.

This was a big sized one, stuffed it is and they call it amigurumi.

She took a small white one to work to put on her desk, when a couple of folk there wanted one.

One guy wanted one for his girlfriend, she loved the light olive green colour and her favourite band is The Misfits, so he wanted Mrs T to do something like their logo!

Well considering how fluffing small this is and worked with yarn that looks like thread I think she did a fluffing decent job!

So surprise surprise today we are having three tunes from The Misfits

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the SIX sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

This week, I'm diving into the dark and delightful world of a band that practically invented "horror punk"... The Misfits.

Formed in Lodi, New Jersey, in 1977, The Misfits quickly carved out a unique niche with their blend of raw punk rock energy, catchy melodies, and lyrics heavily inspired by B-movie horror, sci-fi, and cult films.

Their iconic imagery, featuring the "fiend skull" logo and devilocks, became instantly recognizable and deeply influential. While their lineup has seen many changes over the decades, the early era with Glenn Danzig on vocals is often considered their most seminal, laying the groundwork for countless punk, metal, and alternative bands that followed. They're a band whose influence far outweighs their initial commercial success, leaving an indelible mark on music and counter-culture.

Let's get into the tunes!

Before we start ... Do you know where they got their name from???

The tune that inspired this weeks ttt.

Tune 1 - Misfits ~ Hybrid Moments

First up is a classic that perfectly encapsulates their early sound. Short, fast, and incredibly catchy, "Hybrid Moments" is a fan favorite.

Released: 1982
Album: Static Age (though recorded in 1978, the full album wasn't officially released until much later)

Tune 2 - Misfits - Astro Zombies

This track is a prime example of their horror and sci-fi obsession. It's got that driving Misfits rhythm and a chorus that's impossible not to shout along to.

Released: 1982
Album: Walk Among Us

We finish up with another album only track

Tune 3 - Misfits - Die, Die My Darling

I managed to find a much later performance, this is from Boxing Day in 2009 which is December 26th! Pretty sweet gig to see as it had Danzig and Doyle onstage.

One of their most iconic songs, "Die, Die My Darling" is a powerful, almost anthemic track that shows a slightly more melodic side while still retaining all their punk aggression.

It was of course covered by Metallica, further cementing its legendary status.

Released: 1984 (as a single)
Album: Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood

So there you have it — my three picks for a very "Misfits" kind of week.

Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of Misfits

Oh yes ... The answer ...

The band took their name from Marilyn Monroe's final film, The Misfits (1961)

Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

I wish that you all have a brilliant happy fun and terrific Tuesday until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

I don't like the one with the missing teeth😁😆.
Mrs T could have enjoyed making it. She's so creative😌

I don't know if I have ever heard the Misfits before. I have heard of them for sure, but I can't recall if I have ever listened to one of their songs.

Knowing your love of music, I am pretty sure you will have heard them but maybe not realised who there were.

I'm guessing that might be the case. I'll revisit your videos tomorrow when I have speakers

I love the amigurumis Mrs. T made! 😍 I haven’t really listened to their songs but I’m pretty sure I’ve heard some of them while watching tv shows.

!PIZZA

They are fast and furious lol but a good band.

Come get MOONed!

She did a great job on those skulls, they came out kind of cute being of yard! She's a talented a lady!

The Misfits were a lot of fun, some nice punk that I hadn't heard in years. That last one is pretty good too, I've never been a Misfits fan myself, but they were an great band back in the day!

How has your Tuesday been?

Yeah the skulls were cute, the people at worked loved them, and she wouldn't take any money when they offered lol.
Yeah Misfits had some catchy tunes without knowing it was them I think.

Tuesday was okay, weather is cold and grey buttt not raining lol! Hope you have a great rest of the day.

What I liked the most were the amigurumi! They turned out beautiful and perfect for this season. I don't think I had heard of The Misfits or any of their work before. First time!! Amigurumi hugs!

I used to absolutely LOVe the Misfits. And Danzig's resonant, sexy voice - Die, Die My Darling is a great tune. That was in the phase where i also listened to Minor Threat, Monster Magnet, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and so on. But yeah, there was a whole heap of us that loved the Misfits and Danzig. For a while there Danzig was THE tunes we had on cassette when we car pooled back from bands in the city. I'm glad I didn't die die die my darling on those frightening road trips home though. We weren't the most awfully sensible kids around.
