Jamás pensé ver un juego de mesa de este tipo, aunque la verdad el mundo de los juegos de mesa es tan variado o más, como el mundo de los videojuegos. Siendo Dead Cells es un juego roguelike, de acción, estilo plataforma, cuando lo vi en la Board Game Arena, lo ignore por completo porqué pense que no sería lo suficientemente bueno y si, yo juzgando el juego por la portada, pero un día random @dimeilazgg lo vio y mencionó para jugarlo y qué partida tan buena hemos tenido junto con @dimeshana. Por supuesto que la aventura siguió y luego se nos unió @bleikin para completar el party y por fin lograr derrotar al jefe, o eso creíamos...

Al tratarse de un juego roguelite, es entender que si o si hay que estar dispuestos a morir para poder completar el juego. Al morir, se reservan algunos objetos o materiales que sirven para la siguiente partida y también se adquiere experiencia y se evitan comer errores, que es normal que sucedan. Si bien estuvimos jugando a Dead Cells a través de Game Board Arena, permite tener una buena experiencia que seguro que va a mejorar si se tuviera el juego en físico y unas buenas bebidas.

La mecánica de este juego consiste en explorar ciertos entornos, luchar contra enemigos y mejorar habilidades, junto con un buen equipamiento, para poder hacer frente al jefe final. Hay 4 personajes, los inmolados, cada uno cuenta con ciertas habilidades que son claves para poder lograr el éxito en el juego. El oro es vital para comprar ítems, curar la vida, etc. Si bien se puede gastar el oro, también se puede acumular para una nueva partida, junto con otro ítem que permite comprar las cartas de acciones de las batallas.
The mechanics of this game consist of exploring certain environments, fighting enemies and improving skills, along with good equipment, in order to face the final boss. There are 4 characters, the immolated, each one has certain skills that are key to achieve success in the game. Gold is vital for buying items, healing life, etc. While gold can be spent, it can also be accumulated for a new game, along with another item that allows you to buy the action cards of the battles.
Hablando de las batallas, cada personaje cuenta con un mazo, que va creciendo al comprar las cartas en cada partida que se pierda. Las batallas son por turnos, cada carta indica en qué turno ataca y en qué posición se golpea. La estrategia está en poder coordinar qué cartas utilizar para que, al comenzar la ronda, se logre eliminar a los enemigos, obtener las recompensas y salir lo más ileso posible. Toma un poco de tiempo para aprender el sistema de batalla, pero al hacerlo se vuelve bastante divertido. Siendo diferente en cada partida, porque no siempre se tendrán las mismas habilidades.
Speaking of battles, each character has a deck, which grows as you buy cards in each game you lose. Como en todo juego de estrategia, Dead Cells es un juego donde toca saber armar las estrategias de combate, seleccionar los mejores caminos, saber gestionar los recursos, para lograr avanzar y obtener el nivel necesario para hacer frente a los Jefes. Un error puede costar toda la partida, aunque no siempre es malo, pero puede ser estresante cuando se estaba a punto de matar al jefe final. Así justo nos pasó al final, por calcular mal un turno, terminamos perdiendo cuando teníamos todo a nuestro favor.
As in any strategy game, Dead Cells is a game where you have to know how to put together the combat strategies, select the best paths, know how to manage resources, in order to advance and obtain the necessary level to face the bosses. A mistake can cost the whole game, although it is not always bad, but it can be stressful when you are about to kill the final boss. That's exactly what happened to us at the end, because we miscalculated a turn, we ended up losing when we had everything in our favor.
De verdad que me encanta descubrir nuevos juegos de mesa, aunque lo esté jugando de manera virtual. Lo bonito del mundo de los juegos, sean virtuales o no, es precisamente eso: poder compartir con personas y pasarla bien. I love Roguelike games and like you I was surprised that a board game came out, visually it looks great and respects the art of Dead cells.
