Mis amores, ¿cómo han estado? Yo tuve un fin de semana un poco movido y productivo... Paso por aquí para compartirles mi tarde del sábado. Siempre he sido fiel creyendo que cuando las cosas no se planifican salen mucho mejor. Les cuento que, el día jueves un amigo que tengo de años, se graduó de la universidad en la carrera Ingeniero en Sistema, debido a eso, varios amigos nos pusimos de acuerdo el viernes para hacerle un compartir en celebración a ese gran logro.
My loves, how have you been? I had a bit of a busy and productive weekend.... I stop by to share with you my Saturday afternoon. I have always been a faithful believer that when things are not planned they work out much better. I tell you that on Thursday a friend I have for years, graduated from college with a degree in Systems Engineering, because of that, several friends agreed on Friday to share with him in celebration of this great achievement.
Cinco largos años estudiando, luchando, y debatiendo para no rendirse, porque para nadie es un secreto que a todos en cualquier momento de la carrera nos entra como la depresión y empezamos a replantearnos qué tan necesario es tener un título jeje. Hay algunos que les toca trabajar y estudiar a la misma vez (como es mi caso) pero, en el caso de mi amigo Carlos, estudiaba de lunes a viernes y los sábados ayudaba a su hermano con un taller mecánico que tiene, así se distraía un poco, y más que eso, podía percibir un dinero extra que le ayudaba para los pasajes y comprar lo que necesitara para la universidad.
Five long years studying, struggling, and debating not to give up, because it is no secret that at any moment of the career we all get depressed and start to rethink how necessary it is to have a degree hehe. There are some who have to work and study at the same time (as is my case) but, in the case of my friend Carlos, he studied from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays he helped his brother with a mechanic shop he owns, so he could distract himself a little, and more than that, he could get some extra money that helped him for the tickets and to buy what he needed for college.
El punto es que, teníamos varias opciones, la principal hacer algo fácil, práctico y sabroso que le encantara a nuestro amigo debido a que él era el protagonista de la reunión, o segundo, llevarlo a comer a algún sitio... Decidimos optar por la primera idea ya que nos salía un poco más económico y podíamos elegir y añadirle a la hamburguesa lo que nos gustara sin escatimar en la cantidad. El mismo día sábado temprano en la mañana salimos a comprar todos los ingredientes que necesitábamos para llevar a cabo la comida... Y un punto importante es que Carlos no sabía NADA del compartir, simplemente le habíamos dicho que íbamos a ver una película así que todo fue sorpresa para él.
The point is that we had several options, the main one was to make something easy, practical and tasty that our friend would love since he was the main character of the meeting, or secondly, to take him out to eat somewhere.... We decided to opt for the first idea since it was a little cheaper and we could choose and add to the hamburger whatever we liked without skimping on the quantity. Early on Saturday morning we went out to buy all the ingredients we needed to make the meal... And an important point is that Carlos knew NOTHING about the sharing, we had simply told him that we were going to see a movie so everything was a surprise for him.
Mis amigos llegaron a la casa, empezó el proceso de sazonar la carne, cocinarla, picar la cebolla, tomate, lechuga, aguacate, freír los huevos, entre otras cosas. Luego de tener todo listo lo colocamos en la mesa para empezar a armar nuestras suculentas hamburguesas, una amiga llevó una salsa de ajo que le dio un súper plus ¡Quedaron divinas!
My friends arrived at the house, began the process of seasoning the meat, cooking it, chopping the onion, tomato, lettuce, avocado, frying the eggs, among other things. After having everything ready we placed it on the table to begin to assemble our succulent hamburgers, a friend brought a garlic sauce that gave them a super plus!
Y como en toda sorpresa siempre pasan cosas que uno no puede medir o precaver, pues les cuento que Carlos había llegado con una amiga mucho antes de la hora acordada, así que nuestra amiga Mariana fue la cómplice de llevarlo a otros lugares antes, para que nos diera tiempo y que no nos consiguiera todavía armando las cosas, ya que faltaban uno retoques en la decoración y culminar el proceso de las hamburguesas. En fin, sí se dio todo perfecto, Carlos llegó justo en el momento indicado y quedó sorprendido y encantado con todo, no sé lo creía pero sí nos dijo que lo sospechó en algún punto ya que nos conoce muy bien a todos jeje.
And as in every surprise things always happen that one can not measure or foresee, well I tell you that Carlos had arrived with a friend long before the agreed time, so our friend Mariana was the accomplice to take him to other places before, to give us time and not get us still putting things together, as there were a few touches in the decoration and complete the process of hamburgers. Anyway, everything was perfect, Carlos arrived just at the right time and was surprised and delighted with everything, he didn't believe it but he did tell us that he suspected it at some point since he knows us all very well hehe.
Conclusión de todo: Pasamos una tarde rica, comiendo sabroso y en honor a nuestro querido amigo Carlos, porque los triunfos de los amigos también se toman como victorias propias. Yo, en lo personal, estoy muy alegre y orgullosa de saber que mi amigo culminó satisfactoriamente con la carrera que le apasiona. Los amigos son como hermanos en tiempos de angustias, así dice un libro muy sabio, y yo lo creo. Hicimos todo eso para que él se sintiera honrado y feliz, para poder compartir su logro con él y para que se sintiera amado en medio de todos sus amigos.
Conclusion: We spent a delicious afternoon, eating tasty food and honoring our dear friend Carlos, because the triumphs of friends are also taken as our own victories. Personally, I am very happy and proud to know that my friend has successfully completed the career he is passionate about. Friends are like brothers in times of trouble, so says a very wise book, and I believe it. We did all this so that he would feel honored and happy, so that we could share his achievement with him and so that he would feel loved in the midst of all his friends.
La amistad es un concepto profundo, hay amigos de amigos, y hay cada tipo de amigo, lo importante es que la lealtad siempre esté presente, no importa si no se ven todos los días, si no chatean siempre, lo verdaderamente importante es que a pesar de que pasen meses cuando se vuelvan a ver la amistad siga intacta y como si no hubieran pasado tiempo. Yo considero que soy muy buena amiga, pero un poco ausente, debido a mis responsabilidades, a mi estudio, a mi trabajo y mi estilo de vida, pocas veces suelo salir con mis amigos, he durado meses sin ver a algunos, pero cada uno de ellos saben que, si me necesitan, si quieren un consejo, un apoyo o un aliento, yo estaré ahí para ellos.
Friendship is a deep concept, there are friends of friends, and there are every kind of friend, the important thing is that loyalty is always present, it does not matter if you do not see each other every day, if you do not always chat, what is really important is that even if months go by when you see each other again the friendship remains intact and as if no time has passed. I consider myself to be a very good friend, but a little absent, due to my responsibilities, my studies, my work and my lifestyle, I rarely go out with my friends, I have lasted months without seeing some of them, but each one of them knows that if they need me, if they want advice, support or encouragement, I will be there for them.
Siempre trato ser la amiga que quiero que sean conmigo. ¿Cómo así? Si quiero apoyo, debo de apoyar, si quiero ayuda, debo de ayudar, y así... Ser lo que quiero que sean conmigo. Ojo, sé que no siempre recibimos lo que damos, pero siempre damos lo que somos, y ahí está nuestro verdadero valor.
I always try to be the friend I want them to be with me. How so? If I want support, I have to support, if I want help, I have to help, and so on.... Be what I want them to be with me. I know we don't always get what we give, but we always give what we are, and therein lies our true value.
