Yesterday, after a week of inactivity due to a sore shoulder, I finally went back to the gym. The truth is that I had been feeling a little sluggish in the last few days, and that didn't make me feel good. But I was determined to get over myself and face this new week with all the attitude.
The nice weather in the plaza filled the atmosphere as I prepared for my routine. I felt the tension in my muscles, but also a strange sense of excitement. Had I lost strength during my forced rest? That always terrifies me a little.
I started with warm-up exercises, feeling the blood flowing through my veins again. Then, I tackled some pine push-ups, it hurt a little, but nothing to worry about. Each repetition was a challenge, but also a small victory. My shoulder still hurt a little, but I wasn't going to give up.
I remembered why I love calisthenics: not only to stay physically fit, but also to strengthen my mind and spirit. Each lift was a step forward, an affirmation that I could overcome any obstacle.
At the end of my workout, I felt exhausted but satisfied. I knew I had done my best. And as I stretched, I vowed that this week would be different. No matter how long I had been away, I was now back and ready to face any challenge.
