This post is for my students of 2022 and for anyone else who wants to read this. Let's talk a little about making money online, specifically within Hive.
The basic concept is that your content that you write from your own brains, the pictures that you took yourself and the videos you make yourself are all Reward Winning Content!
It does not need to be perfect but it has to be yours.
There is the trio of truth that must never be broken:
- All content you post must be YOUR own. No plagiarism!
- No Spamming. No repetitive posting of the same content over and over. Not even in comments!
- Always provided the source of the pictures that you are posting or whatever it is that you are sharing.
That said there are some negative thoughts that need to be banished!
Just be yourself! Just get involved in the things that you are already interested in and post about that.
If you enjoy what you are posting about, then the chances are that you will keep posting about it. If it is an interest or a hobby, find a group of people who like the same things as you and join them. There are usually communities for most interests and if you cannot find yours, then you can always create your own community on Hive for a mere 3 HIVE!

Hive is giving you the opportunity to find people with similar interests and for you to earn a cryptocurrency out of it. For my South African students, this crypto can be paid out into your bank account in Rands and I encourage those who start the journey with me to do a little transfer 2-4 weeks after getting on Hive, even if you do not NEED the money.
Just the mere fact that you can write something, get upvoted and rewarded from that needs to be experienced!
The truth is that the connections you make with people are just as important, if not more, than the content that you produce!
My habit is that when I see a friend of mine publish a post, I have hit the upvote button on his post even before I have read the post itself! It is only after the fact that i open the post and give it a read.
There have even been cases where I am simply too busy to read all the posts from all my friends whom I wish to support. So I do what I can: I give their votes upvotes on all their posts and maybe only much later, do i get in there and read and leave a comment.
Thus, be yourself and be nice to others on Hive.
You do not need to be a professional Journalist to make a post about something. Just get in there and start learning how posts are made and written and then hit publish on that post!
Guys, this is the first stepping stone. You need to learn how to make a post and that will be part of the entire process on how to make this whole platform work for you.

Other streams of income can be obtained if you stick around long enough on Hive!
HP and Hive goes up in interest by 2.854% per year!
HBD savings goes up by 12% per year!
You can buy and stake a number of other tokens and accounts that you can gain massive amounts of income from if your plan is to build something up that you can draw a considerable income from in the far future.

Owning and staking these tokens means that when you vote and curate content that use those tags, your return in those secondary community tokens will be higher!

Conclusion
I should mention here that this is not all "Financial Advice". I am merely pointing out that it IS possible to earn something from posting on the blockchain.
Make $10, make $100. I know users who on their first year of being on Hive made thousands of dollars. Even if you do not strike it big with a community, if you start today then your tomorrow is a little more progressed than it is right now.

Excellent advice @ZakLudick and so relatable. I often see a post by someone I like and the reflex to just hit "upvote" is so real! I have tried to train that out of myself and I make sure I read 1st, because being authentic is what makes these communities and the blockchain itself unique and worthwhile being a part of <3
That's part of the point. The thing that the people are subscribed to is YOU and not the content of specific posts that you put up. They want to support you and will comment usually if they have read your posts.

I just added an HBIT command (you should get a small bit) and here's! LUV. I think one use case for these tokens is to learn about trading and reading market orders and depth charts.
