Hello lovely Hiveans !

When I came to work today I was really surprised. The whole university complex was completely extinct. It started already two weeks ago to empty here extremely fast, and already looked super deserted during that time, but today it was actually extinct! The first thing I realized when I arrived was that all the parking lots were empty. Not even a single car was left. Usually it is impossible to get a free parking lot if you are arriving after 7:30 AM, but today at 10 AM I encountered no one ! .. I could even easily park my car in front of the building so that I comfortably have to only walk 20 m to reach the entrance

As it is Monday it was time for me to refill the refrigeration here, so I took my walk through the university complex into the Uni-Center to go to the grocery store. I figured out that nearly all the mayor walks on my way were already locked and that there are still many new lockers out there waiting to be used at every corner in the future. Even the local playground was wrapped in warning tape.

It was the very first time in my live that I saw the campus forum complete deserted too. There was not a single person wherever I looked, but already some broken glass doors. It felt so weird to walk across the campus. It was so quiet and reminded me on the opening scene of the movie "28 Days Later", a 20 years old horror drama, where a guy walks the deserted streets of London after he woke up after an outbreak of a deadly virus. Kind of creepy.

Most buildings were closed down completely and the entrance to them is forbidden. One thing that really hurts me, is that it also counts for the Botanical Gardens. So unfortunately there will be no episode of the botanical garden tours in the near future for you. They even went so far to cut of the water from the fire hydrants.

When I reached the bridge after a long and slow walk of 30 min through the whole campus, I finally reached the other side with the train station directly in front of the Uni-Center. Here I encountered two other humans, one walking across the bridge, one coming out of the station. This bridge is usually also stuffed with people, as well as the street running underneath it, but today they were empty.

I started to wonder if those people are on their walk to the grocery store too. But guess what, they were all going into the local drugstore. As only two people were allowed to enter simultaneously they all had to wait outside until its their time to go in. The rest of the Uni-Center was empty too, also the grocery store. I noticed that there are stripes glued on the ground now to keep the distance at the pay desks, but I did not have to wait today.

This is where I spend my time of isolation. My little office and also, as there are only two other emergency contacts somewhere in this house, my own floor ^^ I have this awesome coffee machine standing here and also a huge depot of about 20 kg coffee beans to use on it. An by the way, several bottles of disinfectant around too. It feels like I am the last person in this whole university, but I know that in these science buildings here there are of course other people left as the machines and systems have to be maintained continuously. This will be some weird weeks or probably weird months to come.

Thanks for sharing with us your experience, mate!
A huge hug from Italy!

Thank you @amico ^^ .. as far as I heard it in the news you in Italy are already all in the house for quite a while .. But singing altogether on the balconies, hehe ;)

You are welcome!

Yes, we are under "house arrest" since two weeks.

I recommend you to watch the following video, currently subtitled in English and French... as Italian, it also makes me laugh and fills me with gratitude!

Hehe .. its the times when to take things away from people that they learn to appreciate its worth the most ^^ .. after Corona there will be a travel boom around the world, haha 🤣 .. I am glad that I already saw some of these places mention in this video. I wonder if they to a house arrest here too soon 🤔

It seems to me all madness, or rather, a PSY OP... I find many similarities in the communication techniques used in many other PSY OPs: are we experiencing a worldwide Truman Show, as already happened on 11 September 2001?

That is a great hypothesis ^^ .. I actually believe that part of humankind is actually rotten enough to do this without even thinking to much about it. History told me more than once what people are willing to do to achieving the most weird goals .. But I actually do not think it is happening like this, also there are many possible motives, starting fro planing a world wide cleaning offensive to just a group of nature terrorists who want to stop the pollution of the planet .. But in my opinion this is just over exaggeration of all of us .. There are flues everywhere every year where more people on the planet are dying from and no body seems to care to much .. We also already had similar things like pig and bird flues, Sars, Ebola and I don't know what else where no body seems to care to much too .. I think this time its the fault of Netflix, for feeding us constantly with series's about Zombie and Virus apocalypses and other "The worlds going to end" movies ^^ .. Lets see how world looks like in a month ;)

Netflix, Amazon Prime, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, hive.blog... LOTS of tools distract us from our essence?
Periodically we should make periods - more or less long - of detoxification from distractions: what wonderful opportunity does the isolation of covid-19 offer us? 😎

A worm hug! 🤗

Gespenstisch 😷 👻

Schon etwas .. Ich bin mal gespannt wie es sich anfühlt und aussieht wenn es noch 2 Monate so weitergeht 😉

I am so sad this is happening to our beautiful world, all the people and it’s inhabitants. The lockdown , fines and excellent care will hopefully be enough to beat the virus

I am actually very optimistic on the outcome in the end .. As finally people stating to realize the situation as one where everyone has to fight hand in hand . I just hope that after the crisis, when people realize that a lot of things destroying our planet are unnecessary and see how nature kind of recovered a bit, there will be a rethinking on our environmental problems. Also, maybe as our Tron problem brought us all together as a stronger community in Hive, people on the whole world are brought closer together by this crisis .. I try my best to see it optimistic ^^

Because of the virus things are getting serious here too. People are advised to go home and stay home. Everything but essential services are in shutdown. Many working from home.

Its spreading now in every corner of the world, no matter how remote it is.. But you will be able to see little Tiny every single day 😁

It's empty and eerie everywhere! You're right about it feeling like a horror movie; I keep expecting zombies!

Hahah, I also have a real good imagination power ^^ .. I should go an make a movie out there 🤣 .. But who knows what is next in 10 years. We probably should not laugh to loud now 🤔

Quarantine is a kind of house arrest, from which you can only leave for essential things like the purchase of food and medicine. It's a difficult situation to cope with. I love my home, but I haven't left for 12 days and I feel preyed on.

12 days at home sound so stressful .. I am actually quite lucky that I have to sit around here. Its quite lonely, but at least I can walk the whole campus whenever I want. Lets just hope that is will not stay like this until 2022 ! .. people on the whole world will go crazy !

It is so unreal, isn't it? Who would think that one day we will be living in isolation and the streets will be empty?

We are living in really strange time .. I wonder if anything will change after this time, or if people just go on exactly as before 🤔

Honestly I don't know, but seems to me, some will change, others will not.
Today, after almost a week of cold weather, the sun is back and it is nice and warm. People are out, surely not just to buy food or medicine. It is a bit scare they do not take seriously the warnings.
