dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"

Those are called Bleeding Hearts and are just coming into season now. They are one of the first spring flowers to bloom after the daffodils, of course.

My son is better now. So far, he didn't have a fever for more than 12 hrs now. And is bubbly and talkative as ever. 😂 Thank you for asking, Denise. And thanks for the prayers too. 😘

Multiplying and dividing. They have closed major places and limited travel, but, I think it was too little too late. But, not panicking. I know things will be fine, just take more time.

I see. Glad that everything is in control. Here it's still in control too. (I just don't know if the government is keeping it from public so as to avoid panic. But hopefully they are not.) Major cities are in lockdown. Our city is not in total lockdown, but are checking the temperature of everyone entering the city. Hopefully, it can help. Because they say that the first few days, a patient can be asymptomatic. 😢😰

Thanks so much @jerrytsuseer! Are you talking about the whole poem? The poem was written by Warsan Shire and this is it in its entirety. I always post the entire thing because most people take it out of context by only using the Where does it hurt part. Then it loses the meaning of it.

Your poem has me a bit befuddled, like the speaker it seems. At first I thought it was a beautiful love poem, then second time through it seemed more an unrequited love poem, full of anguish:
Then this:
Forever gone. So sad!
Finally, a wish:
Very moving! Even though the words are strikingly beautiful and of love, your poem leaves me bereft.
Ohhhh! So sorry for the confusing writings. These words were from long ago and far away. Not from the feeling of today, but, words of today. (Did that make sense?)

Oh, yes! The words of that poem are amazing, aren't they? Warsan Shire is quite talented in her poetry and writing of truth. I believe most people have only ever seen the most popular part of the poem, "Where does it hurt" Which is a shame as this is a wonderful piece - in whole.

If I could, I would breathe as deep as my lungs would allow
To shout that I can also let off steam me in a poem
and free me from what ails me.
Certainly, there are words that are heard by the heart,
emotions that only sight can perceive and feelings that hands can discern.
