It was one of those lazy days of summer. Feet planted in the sand, I stop for a moment or three to make conversation with my feathered friends, who were having quite the day of their own.

I choose to be out in the garden today, after my excursion to the house on the shore. I got there, only to find, my neighbor had already mowed my yeard with a few acres. A man with a kind soul.
When life isn't quite perfect, and the disappointments of the moment crowd together, all I have to do is look around this world to see how wrong I am. There are days and then, there are days of great beauty. Always. There are countless moments in any given day, that add up, leaving me to welcome another day, where the admission is always free. May you stumble upon some happiness and sunshine today. Who can resist the gentle breeze, blowing through the loose ends of your hair? I found some sun and shine in the garden, seeking the company of one another. Breathe deeply and let the day swallow you whole. After all, how many #SubimeSunday's will you get this week? What if?
You were here, without this dream
Would my heart slow down and begin to breathe?
Would words suddenly become obsolete?
Would our souls continue to touch that place?
Our lips, our lips
Will they meet their fate?
What if?
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.

i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"

It is a trait that I would love to adopt. If you go in with that idea, you are more in tune to pick something I think. Picture #2 was a pot of flowers on my porch. I love to have my porch filled with the beauty as well.

Oh I love seagulls so much! I just find them darling and hilarious. I think they may be my favorite bird. I take pictures of them wherever I go in the world, always promising to myself that one day I will put my whole collection together in an album, labeled by the date and location. The monochrome is really stunning.
