Still a lot to do, but I spent the night here last night

image.png

It was an "interesting night" first hour after getting the essentials inside, I began trying to find ways to cover or block my window in this bedroom.

I got creative, obviously

There's a sliding glass door behind that comforter. Odd that I would have scrounged one just the right color, isn't it?

Does anyone even still believe in coincidence?

It has been a VERY long time since I tried to sleep in temps as low as 62°. Back here in the big room, that was how cold it got.
It wasn't the quiet as much as the unfamiliar sounds, trains in the distance, house creaks and pops (but that was really minimal.)

Sunrise East.jpg

This window is to the right of my computer desk

The windows on the east side being totally uncovered meant that headlights occasionally shine in, I got up at one point and turned on that wall unit, which did begin to warm the room up, but it is too LOUD for sleeping.
At one point, I got up and went to pee, coming out I looked and a window into (I think) a bedroom in the next house is also uncovered.
The light was on and I could see into the room.
Sadly, there was nothing at all going on, no people and NO SEX 😈
So I got out my electric blanket, took a xanax and then I slept well.
It was 62 in here when I got out of bed, turned on that wall unit, now it SAYS it is 73, with the sun shining right in the window

Squirrel Window.jpg
Sitting here typing a moment ago, a squirrel came prancing past, stopped and looked back at me. Sadly didn't get a shot of that.

I got the bare necessities out of my car yesterday before dark; it was already near freezing (went down to 29°F)
So now I have a lot of stuff to get out before I can go back to Smyrna for other things, yes there are still a LOT of things to be done and gotten out.
Two SURPRISES though.

While we were still bringing things in, I got a text from Michele
Keep in mind, this was the third trip, I was extremely tired, stuff going on I needed to keep an eye on.
She said "what did you think of my housewarming gift?"
(Almost snappish, I said) I've been dragging stuff in and out and haven't had time to look, what is it?
She said "Window blinds installed"
I think she is going to spring for another set like those on the other two window facing the street, AND these 4 back here.
Second surprise?

THE "Lost set of keys" appeared in a box of general crap, I have no EARTHLY idea how that happened.

What a cool looking place! I'm just sure that squirrel will return for a photo op, particularly if there are some Hoody's (peanuts) involved :) And what an impressive house warming gift. WoooooHoooo things are just rocking in your world.

My temp right now inside the house is about 64. I do not have central heat so it's a little cooler in the bedroom. I have a Hudson Bay 4 Beaver wool blanket on my bed under a light quilt. I sleep like a baby. Awake every 3 hours to pee. Wish I could sleep like an infant :)

Coincidence is God's way or remaining anonymous. Just sayin'

It was 56° in my bedroom when I got up this morning, 30° outside (still)
The sun rose about 25 min ago. You get to see my first Sunrise pic from the new place

That didn't turn out particularly well.

Ahhhh, but the Braves hat is nicely highlighted.

Temp here is about 46f right now. A few (thankful) degrees warmer.

Sam just asked to go outside. For the first time today. He's a lot happier inside in this weather :)

Frost covering everything
Porch sunrise, day 2.jpg

It's been a couple of years since we had a frost :) It's been around 10 years since we had a killing frost, we are probably about due.

We get frost every year, and any frost on most potted plants kills them back to the root.
Now we have hard FREEZES, where it stays below 32°F overnight or longer, those are deadly to plants, people and pipes.

The window blinds were a wonderful gift! Glad you got to finally spend the night in your new home.

It looks like you have been as busy as a beaver.

Keep the surprises coming, you're on a roll.

I have the same shit happen to me, lose shit, don't know-how, and all of a sudden there it is, out of nowhere.

Could be that age thing.

Keep on trucking and you'll have it all knocked out by the holidays!

Holiday? what's that?
A bachelor living alone has no holidays nor celebrations.
I MUST get this done prior to Dec 31, but the worst of it is done now

At least now, I have only one HEAVY thing left, I'm going to get my original keyboard now, don't know how I'll move that heavy desk it is sitting on (those things are not pictured)
These were the two guys helping me yesterday, well I paid them and bought us all lunch. They are both older than I am.
