The golden promise
Out to edge you strayed
dancing with death below.
The rocks silently prayed
for slip upon slick stone.
Risk your chosen game
no prisoners left to spare.
Absent mercy and blame
an all or nothing affair.
Trust in all that you do
though opposition sneer.
Its only the sparse few
to face you without fear.
The object of dark desire
and the light of the flame.
Engulfed in greenest fire
riches, ashes all the same.
Those waiting for the fall
never to see it come to pass.
There you'll stand on tall
and the last you'll out last.
One word whispered of gold
and while the others slept.
A promise so terribly cold
will always be horribly kept.

Honestly - with my English, I almost did not understand what is written here, but I liked these lines.

With poetry, you can understand and still not, or miss pieces and get a lot of value. I dind that it is like a painting, it is up to the viewer to decipher. Thanks for the share too.
Nice signature :D
Playing around with various things :)
an all or nothing affair.
A promise so terribly cold
dancing with death below.

A culmination of many things.
Hope you are well
Dude, you're good :)
Words are fun
They are. I do some rapping from time to time. But it's in my native language, so not worth sharing here.

It took little bit time to understand. But still can't understand it completly.
And finally this got me,
"Those waiting for the fall
never to see it come to pass.
There you'll stand on tall
and the last you'll out last."
I am not great at writing poetry, but I enjoy the process a lot :)
This is lovely and your rhyming scheme is laudable. I can evidently see you employed predominantly the use of abab rhyming scheme.
Did you perchance studied Poetry?
Definitely not, I barely studied anything :)
Hahahaha
