My mother-in-law's intercrops growing slowly but successfully..

Hello my fellow Hivers,

How are you guys, I think you will be home and very safe during this quarantine period. This is a difficult time to live. I say that because every country is going to the abyss, both healthily and financially. However, we must be able to restore life to our important decision. Yesterday was a Sunday and we were not allowed to leave the house. We are still unable to leave the country as a curfew has been imposed in our country. But in the morning my wife got a phone call from her mother. It said she was a little sick. So we decided to visit my mother-in-law, who was about 45 km away, in the middle of the curfew. We also kept documents to submit for police barricades. But nowhere did they test us. About an hour later we reached the beautiful village and my mother-in-law had recovered a little. One of my favorite scenes was her gardening.

My mother-in-law is harvesting capsicum sap using small polythene bags to suit the needs of the house. Capsicum contains vitamins A and C. A vegetable that contains mineral salts. These are usually spicy. It is a crop that can be grown in wet and dry climates. It is also a crop that can be grown in pots in apartments as well as in a small backyard. The average length of a pod is about 15 cm. The spikes are green. Spikes bright.

In my mother-in-law's garden, I have planted a few plants of the same variety as the green chillies. Their severity is also different. Although not a nutritious food, they also contain minerals such as vitamin C, calcium and iron. If the seedlings are in full bloom in the nursery, the flowers can be removed and transplanted. Since the seedlings are well matured, they can be installed quickly in the field by planting as soon as the rains come.

Gotukola, botanically known as Centella asiatica, is a very popular herbaceous plant.

The other feature I saw was the scattered vines in the garden. Gotukola, one of the most popular herbs among Sri Lankans, is in good demand in the market. Its unique flavor is one of the main reasons for its popularity. Iron is abundant and has a very high medicinal value. Gotu kola is cultivated as a home garden and as a small and large scale cultivation. The wet zone with year-round rainfall is most suitable for cultivation.

Pepper is a highly profitable by-product. But my mother-in-law does not sell them for profit. It is her habit to keep it for future use as well as for the use of her children. In this case, the black seeds are peppers that ripen after ripening and are well dried in the sun. A considerable number of pepper vines were found here.

In my mother-in-law's garden, several ginger plants were grown in two places. We use tubers as ginger, which are formed by roots growing underground. Everyone likes to drink a cup of hot tea with ginger when they are tired due to hard work. Ginger has become such a popular condiment among Sri Lankans. Ginger is in great demand in the country and many people are interested in cultivating it as a commercial crop. In the turmeric plant, the tubers also grow from the ground. Well ripened turmeric tuber, reddish. Turmeric, which has a yellowish color, is high in medicinal properties. There are several such plants in the garden.

Pineapple, which is rich in vitamin C, is eaten mostly as a fresh fruit. There were also a few pineapple plants in the garden and I saw two fruit set. These are leafy with thorns. The tree is of medium size. The pineapple is conical in shape. The eyes, which are located deeper in the bark, are clearly protruding outwards. It has a pleasant aroma of ripe fruit. The apricots of such fruits are dark yellow.

The Annona tree, which has grown to medium size, has begun to bear fruit. There are a number of species of Annona that are popular all over the world as a tasty and quality fruit. There are several species of home gardens in Sri Lanka. The Annona in particular helps to distinguish the shape of the fruit from that of the species.

The names of the avocado plant have not yet begun to bear fruit. It may take some time before flowering begins. This fruit contains carbohydrates, water, protein, iron, calcium, B vitamin complexes and phosphorus. The specialty here is that it contains a high amount of fatty acids. This fruit is most famous for its beauty activities. It is also very popular among us as a fruit juice.

Another fruit rich in vitamin C is banana. Banana is a high quality fruit and nutritious fruit that can be harvested throughout the year. Proper cutting of ripe banana cans is a common practice in our country. The time it takes for a banana to ripen is the same. It is approximately 12 weeks. Bananas ripen more often when they turn from green to light green, and when the fringe nature of the fruit disappears.

Coconut is one of the most important ingredients in our food preparation. Therefore there is a high value in the market. Currently, the Department of Agriculture has introduced coconut seedlings that bear fruit in 3 years. The mother-in-law planted several such plants a year ago. They will give a successful harvest in the future. Cassava is also a type of potato that can be prepared in a delicious way. It can be said without any doubt that some plants are grown in a bed for domestic use. Immature fruits could also be seen on the guava tree.

I could clearly see that there was more space in my mother-in-law's garden than there was in our backyard. A variety of vegetables, fruits and crops could be seen here. They are high in health as well as nutrients. It is also a good way to save money. No need to worry about space. All that is really needed is a clear need.

A beautiful collection of plants here. Thank you for sharing

I wish I could grow some of these species, but the climate in my area is a bit dry and too cold at times

You say your mother-in-law collects Capsicum sap. That's really fascinating! I never knew you could do that. Would be interesting to find out more

I've got a few chilli peppers growing. Cayenne and jalapeños. Are they suitable for extracting sap from?

Cheers and all the best

Hello @focus.folks, I'm verry sorry to late response to you. If there are cold cimate condition, not suited to grow species what I mentioned here. However happy to hear you already started chili peppers growing. But I can't recommend to for extracting sap from it. Thanks for reading. Have a enjoyable weekend.
