@naturalmedicine is holding a challenge to celebrate earth day. This time there is not only Hive up for grabs, but the winner will also receive a one month delegation of 100 HP.
This week'd @ecotrain question of the week asks us to discuss our thoughts on judgement. Are we quick to judge? Why do we judge?
Welcoming Newcomers
Okay, @buckroobaby is not exactly a newcomer, but someone who has had to start over after 2 years. If you were around and remember @buckaroo, you might be pleased to hear she's back and this time she's backed up those passkeys twice! I hope we can all help her get back into the swing of things and back up to speed. After all, a lot has changed in two years here.
Some highlights of the week
When it comes to gardening and working with nature it can often be easiest to go with the flow and make things easier on yourself. @erikah offers us a few tips that helped to make the garlic and onion planting a lot quicker this year.
As the winter ice thaws, maintenance begins on @thebigsweed's pond with a spring clean up a must to keep it thriving with life.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading @generikat's account of acquiring ducks! I feel like nearly every homesteader has a similar tale to tell about at least one of the animals they've taken on.
While most people reading this are probably well into spring and warmer weather, here in the south it's getting colder and I have lit the woodburner. So when I saw this warming, vegan, viking hodgepodge from @herbertholmes2 I started to imagine all those stews in my near future.
Each week one of our featured authors will be selected to be a 5% beneficiary of The Lotus Garden newsletter. This week @generikat will receive this award.

Thank you for the mention! Yes, it’s definitely a good stew for the cold weather. Where I am, we went from winter to summer back to winter in about 3 weeks.. so maybe the change of weather played a part in inspiring me to make a stew.
I’m excited for the earth day challenge!
You're welcome.
I'm half expecting a similar change here, just in the other direction. It's often the way that we go from cold to hot and vice versa, even just in one day, sometimes!
Sigh... yet again. A couple of days ago it was hot and the grass was growing, and now we're in an intense snowstorm. Can't make any decisions around here...
