WHO ARE YOU REALLY??? #introduceyourself

Sunshine and daisies is a favourite expression of my mama @buckaroo. She says we live the dream life, here on our African country homestead. And it is like sunshine and daisies. My mama @buckaroo also says that people wear all kinds of masks, even before it became a fashion. Because it is so hard to tell who people are, behind that mask, real or emotional, I'm going to tell you exactly who I am.

IMG_7953.JPG

No I am not an almost 4 year old with a genius' command of grammar. My mama is NOT @buckaroo. I AM @buckaroo! My sad story is that after my long silence (during which time Hive was birthed) my sweet husband tried to help me clean up my laptop and transition from steemit to hive. But he inadvertently (don't ask) overwrote all - YUP - ALL - my keys. I have despairingly tried to find and reinvent them with the persistent assistance of @craigcryptoking, my long term blogging brother.....BUT....the only solution (if you can call it that) was to reinvent my blogging face. It is like reinventing the wheel. Can it really be done?

FB_IMG_1599636629924.jpg

My initial thought was to write from my enthusiastic little homesteading children's viewpoint. I was/am ever hopeful @buckaroo can be released from solitary confinement. But I really do hate a mask and can not imitate who I am not....even if it is pretending to be one of my toddlers!

Thank you dear @dswigle for seeing through the charade and for your generous help to get my new page off the ground. Trying to reconnect with old cyber faces has been like climbing Everest. There are SO many who have disappeared. And then there are those probably a little skeptical about a child's ramblings. So here it is! No facade! The truth. I am the @buckaroo from South Africa who loved blogging and interacting with so many of you over two years ago. I have to admit I am totally daunted about building up my reputation again. But I am already encouraged by the old pages and names I could learn from and laugh (or cry) with not so very long ago #naturalmedicine, #marketfriday and #fruitsandveggiesmonday being my all time favourites.

For those of you who are new here: My husband calls me hippie organic. It pretty much sums me up. We are a small family run homestead in the beautiful but semi desert, mountainous part of the Western Cape. I love all things natural and am passionate about the truth. All my time is spent with my kids, both two and four legged.

FB_IMG_1599052516907.jpg

To survive I ran two businesses, one using the organic milk from my beautiful Saanen goats to make natural products (soaps and cheeses) Buckaroo Baby was the other business, I used to make cloth diapers and matching kiddies clothing. Sadly, like many of you, first one and now the second business has been affected (read closed) during the last year.

We have been striving for self-sufficiency for almost a decade now. It is challenging to say the least. We have never worked so hard or shed so many tears. But ultimately it is the best life we can offer our children and we have never been happier. What I hope to get back to sharing with you, is how we survive - and THRIVE - on our home sweet homestead. Because, after all, what is sunshine and daisies without the occasional storm?

Well, I'm glad you found a way back to us and hope you have your passwords saved in hard copy too, this time. 😉

So sorry to hear about your businesses. It's been a crazy year and isn't looking likely to improve soon.

Anyway, welcome back. Hopefully your account will be back up to the speed of the old one soon.

Yes! In more than one place! Thank you for your kind words @minismallholding. Can't wait to get started....

Oh my dear! As stated before it made my day hearing from you and even more so now knowing you are rebuilding here. I am so sorry about what happened but I am enthused about you coming back.

When I received my first response from this account I figured it was really you behind those words but decided to wait to see what will unfold and if you would ever come out again. So glad @dswigle reached out to help, I’m not surprised by that as she is such a kind hearted person.

I am also sorry to hear about your businesses but am hoping and praying things are still okay for your family. I have always admired you since that first day you posted in needleworkmonday, I thought “this mama is amazing”! 😆 All that you stand for, the way you govern your family and your love for the natural life has always been inspiring.

I am looking forward to following your life again and enjoying your publications. So sorry I saw this so late but I did give it a reblog. Reach out if you need anything but hopefully as others have stated it won’t take you as long as you think to get back to where you were.

I’ll be seeing you around ~ 💚

Aaaaah @crosheille! That's really sweet. When I think of you I remember the post you did when we first "met" about your sweet mom. I always see the photo of you two that captures your relationship. Thank you for your help maybe I'll catch you on Discord. Once I get those proverbial ducks in a row I'll do a sewing post. Blessings

@Crosheille This message is so full of hope, love and optism.. You are such an inspirational writer and anyone who get a message of love like this, surely feels blessed.

You are so loved. ❤️

How right you are! Without sunshine and the occasional storm, there would be no daisies. You have been flooded with life right now, so let's see if we can't get you back where you belong.

I love your intro, it is exactly how I remember you, less one child, and working hard every single day on your homestead. I admire you so much for the way you are raising your children. You are giving them something you just cannot buy. Homesteading is not for the weak of heart or soul.

Today the word homesteading refers to “a lifestyle of greater self-sufficiency characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of foodstuffs, and may or may not also involve the small-scale production of textiles, clothing, and craftwork for household use or sale.”

Can I DM you on discord?

Love to you and the baby buckaroos! We will figure something out or at the very least, help you get going! Have a fabulous day!

PS... I just sent a small delegation to keep you floating.

Aaaah Denise! I don't know what to say. Speechless again. Thank you. I love your first sentence. Flooded with life indeed! Yes PLEASE try and hook up on discord. I actually tried before my laptop crashed a week ago. Now I'm just trying to keep the homesteading running and kids from running up the mountainside! And reinstall everything I managed to save off the laptop

Well, don't worry about it at this moment. I will make some inquiries on your behalf and you take care of the needful. xo

@buckaroo / @buckaroobaby! Just tonight reading your intro for the first time. So nice to see you posting again and very sorry to read about the circumstances under which you are doing so. Our Lord has something in mind and I'm sure He'll see you through it just fine.

I don't post as much as I used to, but I am still around. I will follow your account now and hope to hear more in the future!

Thank you for finding me! I struggled to catch up with all those that I had been interacting with all those steemit years ago. So many no longer post.

So many no longer post.

Yes, lots of changes. Many with whom I once carried on a regular correspondence have left. The STEEM / HIVE split created a major shift and I don't know that it will ever be quite the same.

I still post occasionally, but much less so. I just found the time to post and engage at a sufficient level to be uhhh ... "successful" ... to be a compromise I was making with my responsibilities IRL. A compromise that became too great and increasingly unacceptable. That's just me, though ...

Seems others "live" in this "virtual world." I have no idea what their real life looks like, but ...

Anyway, very nice to see you posting again. I hope you and yours are well in this increasingly troubled world.

Sorry to hear about your lost keys and hope that you will soon recover and increase the losses.
The Karoo is indeed a very special place and as a fellow Saffer I wish you and yours well.
It takes guts to make a comeback and you have plenty of it.
See you around Karoo girl.

Saffer?!! That's a first. Great word. Thank you for the compliment @papilloncharity! Nice to "meet" you

Sorry, this one fell through the cracks.

Yes, Saffer is used by many out there, as my daughter lives in the UK and apparently they use it there amongst some other terms.

Blessings and also pleased to meet you guys.

I've given you a shout out in the Lotus Garden newsletter, which will be published tomorrow. 😊

You've been curated by @minismallholding for Natural Medicine's homesteading newsletter, supporting gardeners, permaculturalists, foragers, environmentalists and other earth centred relationships with the earth.

Oh wow. Thank you

welcome dear @buckaroobaby, hope you are happy, the Karoo is a place that ether breaks you or makes you, the best place on this planet. Looking forward to more of your post. thank you for sharing.

Indeed. You either love it or hate it! For me, it's hard not to love it here. Special place. Special people. Like the proverbial rough diamond. Thank you for your understanding comment @artywink

Oh yes! the people there are gems, I would live there tomorrow if I could, it's a very special place, no where else on earth like it. Brings back so many good memories.Go well and stay safe @buckaroobaby.

Welcome back! So unfortunate that you lost your keys! Ah! Well, I have a feeling the community would be happy to build you back up. But you're right, starting over again can be daunting.

We invited a good friend and neighbour to join the platform (@alexanderfarm) and I think you'll enjoy each other's content. She is starting from scratch also and just learning about crypto.

So sorry to hear about your businesses being affected by this none sense. I hope you're able to overcome the obstacles.

I look forward to reading your content again. -Aimee

Thanks for that Aimee. I've already had amazing assistance from my brother @craigcryptoking and the sweet @dswigle. Quite blown away. @alexanderfarm was one of the first people I hooked up with. I think it was a reblog by Denise actually. Looking forward to watching her posts.

Great article. I’m looking forward to reading more!

Aaaah. Thank you @alexanderfarm. Ditto

Wahoo!!! Welcome back!

Yippee! Despite the face-over....Seems like I'm not the only one that needs a new name ;) but for a different reason @nateonsteemit :D

Fabulous post! With posts like this one, I'm sure you will recover quickly, but that is some bummer story about your keys! I am looking forward to your not-childish posts.

Hoping so! I'll be bombarding hive with all my goatie writings like the latest. But let me have a peep at your post @owasco. I enjoy the interaction and sharing of life lessons
