Watermelon is grown a lot in the countryside and villages in Viet Nam and has become the cultivated fruits as the main income source for households. Watermelon can be found everywhere in the country and is very cheap, 1 fruit (3kg) 1USD. What I meant is that why we spend effort and time planting it while we can just buy them. 😅
Well, if you are doing gardening, you will probably understand how excited you feel when growing your own produce in the garden, then harvest and eat it. Love it !!

Doing garđening is like taking care of a BABY honestly 😛😅 We do pay attention to small detail and observe them every day. And you know? It takes a lot of effort and time to take care of them, so please no bargain when buying vegetables from farmer 🙁

image.png

It must be eaten by bugs 😫 Looking for a solution. We don't want they are all eaten before the harvest so we keep an eye on them everyday 🙄

This is a favourite fruit, especially in the hot summertime. As mentioned in the previous post, we added potassium to the ground and it works well. We do water regularly, at least twice a day, to keep the plants from dying. Pruning treetops to reduce the size of the above-ground portion is very important too. Now we have some tiny fruits haha they look so cute. We can't wait to see them bigger and then eat... :) Hopefully, the taste is good and sweet.

Bitter gourd is potentially productive and will provide us plenty of fruits 😆😍. I'm excited to show you the bitter gourd fruit that was just taken today. Since some hiver commented on my old posts that they never heard about this fruit and now you can see how it looks like..hehe.

This was taken more than 2 weeks ago

And now 🙂🙂

To avoid being eaten by birds/ bugs, we're advised to wrap fruits on the tree in a plastic bag. It's easy and quick. In addition, it's also the way to get great fruits without pesticides. So it makes sense. 😎

Malabar spinach & Reddish veggie We just plant these 2 types of vegetables in the garden. 🤗🤗 They both look good now and are easy to plant.

We're not master gardeners but passionate about gardening. We found it joyful and relaxing when spending time in the garden and would love to share our works with you. Hopefully, you like it and look forward to seeing your garden 🤩

Thanks for visiting our garden and have a great week ahead ♥️

What a great update. Love that you take such good care of your plants. I haven't heard of bitter gourd fruit either. I do love a good watermelon!

Thank you Sara 🤗, bitter gourd can be found a lot in Asia, it's bitter and not many people can like it but it's very healthy. I'm not sure how they taste but it looks good for now. :)

Everything looks amazing! Maybe there is slugs? If you gave straw maybe putting thick mat of straw underneath might help minimize damage from bugs especially slugs.
Or if you gave food grade diatomaceous earth in your area that could help by coating watermelon at night and rinsing next morning.

Your garden looks amazing! Keep up the great work and blog!

Oh wow, yeah It's very nice of you and I will follow your instruction. I did not think of putting straw underneath while we have straw here. It sounds great and hopefully it works.
Do you often do gardening?

I dabble. I hope to finally take this soil food web class to become more educated on a specific type of gardening I have been transitioning to.

I used to grow medical cannabis in California for some hippie basically. We used organic liquid nutrients. I became really good at it but was educated on how bad the run off was and how bad the carbon process of making 'organic liquid nutrients' was for the earth. So i wanted to learn how to grow with out nutrients. So i have been learning on my own but soon hopefully I will learn more with this school...

Oh wow, it's very impressive. You've gained a great knowledge of these kinds of things :) It is never a waste to learn more. 🙂🙂

Thanks for your kind response and useful information. I will check out the school.

Please do! The school is online but it is very thorough and finding a mentor locally is key for the program but it is global. So don't get discouraged! If you do the school it is an opportunity to work for yourself with lots of opportunities!

Will do. Thanks very much for the inspiration. You're amazing 😍

WOW, Great photos and I hope it was a tasty mellon!! :)

Have a !PIZZA too. :D

So cute fruits! Sắp đc ăn dừa oài!😝

Hello, friend!
The struggle to take care of our plant babies is real, isn't it? I really like how the bitter gourd fruit looks. It reminds me of something prehistoric! What I do to keep my sitting pumpkins safe from ground critters (and excess moisture) is simply lay them on a brick or other raised surface. That way they don't touch the ground. I hope you get to enjoy your watermelons on a hot day!

Thank you @proto26, yeah I do agree & it's really challenging. So who can do gardening can be more patient, right? I love the bitter gourd. It's bitter but healthy :)) Watermelon is too small to eat now :)) hehe
How's your garden going?

My garden is doing well despite the heavy wind, thanks for asking! Potatoes and pumpkins are nearly ready! I don't know what to post about next: either an air plant update or a bean update. I'm definitely saving my pumpkin post for the monthly contest though. It should be a good one.

Oh yeah the contest is just published. hehee Now I don't know what to post...but will think hahaa Looking for your pumpkin post 😍 I love pumpkin soup :))

I feel like there's always something to talk about in the garden.
That pumpkin post took forever to make for some reason.
I've never tried pumpkin soup! It sounds good!

That's very yummy....!! delicious and nutritious...😋 I just got the idea..I will put my entry soon lol. :)

Garden the best thing to have 😋😋👌👌 it helps mind and soul.

I can't agree anymore. Doing gardening is the best way to relax during the lockdown in my country :)
